My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Mariposa in October 2011. It was a getaway for my birthday...from the hustle and bustle of life...etc. We stayed in the large room near the front of the house with the queen size bed and fireplace. We loved the southwestern decor - the kitchen and sunroom were lovely. The location is... More

We were booked in for 2 nights in mid September with American friends. We arrived in the afternoon, our keys were in an envelope stuck to the front door. The first room we looked at was very small but at least it had a proper bed. The 2nd room was even smaller & the only bed was a sofa bed... More

We liked the Mariposa Lodge. The staff (the only non-guests you will ever see) were super friendly, and great in the kitchen. The rooms were done up nicely, and the location is convenient. BUT... ...we were completely dissed by the owner! She drove right past us in the driveway as we smiled and waved from five feet away. She just... More

On a recent biking trip, our group had the pleasure of staying at the Mariposa B&B. The beautiful common areas, especially the sunroom and kitchen, made our stay relaxing and memorable. My friends and I spent the afternoon reading in the sunroom overlooking the river, then spent the evening on the porch looking for deer and other wildlife in the... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Mariposa Lodge for a long weekend of R&R. Our room was decorated in the bears-and-Indians motif common in the West. it was spacious and clean, and we opened two windows to let in the fresh mountain air. Breakfasts were hot, homemade and quite filling--egg dishes with sausage or bacon and fresh fruit.... More

We rented the whole house for our extended family and it was perfect for our stay. There is plenty of room in the house and it is decorated beautifully. It is in a quiet location away from traffic noise. Breakfast wasn't included with our stay so we provided our own which was no problem for us. A lovely place to... More

We stayed three days at the Mariposa and enjoyed every minute. The owners live next door so we had the entire house to ourselves for 2 days. Bob and Cindy the owners are delightful and engaging over the big breakfast. They are local to the area and very helpful. They even lent us a backpack and emergency kit and helped... More

Love the Mariposa in SteamBoat Springs. My boyfriend and I booked it for my 29th birthday. We were surprised to find no one else in the Bed and Breakfast on the first night. We hung out in the covered atrium watching the snow fall. The next morning we found there were two others staying at the hotel but they had... More

My husband and I stayed at the Mariposa for a brief ski vacation and loved the lodge. Cindy and Bob were the perfect hosts with lots of local information, tips, and entertaining breakfast conversation. Breakfasts were hearty, fabulous - one meal included the best waffles I've ever had! The lodge has several common lounge areas that we enjoyed in peace... More
