This was my second trip to Shoshoni. Last year, I stayed with a friend in the rustic cabin for two days. This year, my hesitant fella accompanied me for one night. I have to say that you need to spend at least two nights here; one was just not enough. Also, when you call for accommodations, have them give you... More

I am a busy mom and world travelling business person. I'm also a long time yoga practitioner. Shoshoni is my oasis where I go when my tank is empty. Even just a day trip refills my tank. I leave Boulder at 9am, take the Pranayama class at 10 followed with a yoga class. This is followed by a great vegetarian... More

I've been to Shoshoni for 3 visits so far and plan to do more. Shoshoni is the definition of a Colorado Mountain retreat. They have a large property with rustic cabins, modern eco-cabins (radiant floor heating, etc.), a lodge, sunroom, temple(s), huge yoga areas, hiking trails going into the surrounding National Forest, and on and on. The yoga sessions are... More

It's labeled a yoga retreat but Shoshoni is an ashram. Students study here ayurvedic therapies, yoga, meditation and sanscrit chants-Eastern religion. The students live here and run the place, and you will learn from them. So, students teaching students. You need to feel comfortable with chanting in sanscrit and doing meditation to really get all you can out of this... More

After a curvy and icy drive from Denver, and missing the driveway entrance initially, I followed the long backwooded driveway at least a mile or two off the highway and finally started to see signs that I was arriving to Shoshoni. It was a Wednesday, early evening, and I found the main office closed. I didn't quite know where to... More

two yoga classes a day, fabulous food, tasty and plenty, meditation sessions, set in a beautiful mountain environment, and run by incredibly warm and friendly people, all multitalented. We stayed in a simple, but clean and cosy cabin - and the only thing we really didn't like while being at Shoshoni was the idea of having to leave it after... More

Very natural landscape, peaceful, and relaxing atmosphere. The 90-minute yoga class was in a spacious room with an experienced instructor. The vegetarian meal was delicious and filling. They grow their veggies on site. The sugar scrub massage was divine. I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time. I enjoyed spotting the chipmunk and rabbits along the trails. A great... More

This was my second visit to Shoshoni. After a hard winter, I wanted to go somewhere I felt nurtured and at home. I was drawn back to Shoshoni where I could be with like-minded people with healthy lifestyles and open hearts. It was so refreshing to be welcomed back by the Shoshoni yogis and replenish myself with good yoga and... More

We were looking for a peaceful weekend getaway and definitely found it at Shoshoni. This mountain retreat was just what we were looking for, beautiful scenery, friendly guests and staff, amazing vegetarian food, plenty of time to hike, read, or attend classes on yoga or meditation. Not only were the yoga classes well taught, but the instructors were very knowledgeable,... More

Pluses: beautiful scenery, very quiet Minuses.... Staff: Many of the staff members were very unfriendly. When my boyfriend and I would smile and say "hi, how are you?" many of the staff would completely ignore us. Also when we checked in the person at the office charged the rest of our stay to the same credit card used for making... More

Shoshoni Yoga Retreat has been undergoing major renovations over the last few years including the addition of an eco-friendly remodeled cabin with solar-powered radiant floor heat, environmentally conscious building materials, beautiful hardwood floors and tiled bathroom. We will be continuing this renovation work until the entire retreat is fully updated and solar powered. Under new leadership, the kitchen has renewed... More
