The staff here are really friendly and nice, which makes everything else work too. Our room was a little dated, with a hole in the wall where one of the light switches should have been. However, it was clean and comfortable, and came with nice toiletries. The standard continental breakfast is enhanced by little details like having real mugs instead... More

The staff were very accomodating, and friendly. The cabin we occupied met my wife's, mine. and our two medium sized dogs very comfortably. Plenty of property for our "Kids" to roam around on.

We stayed one night here, chose the place based on all the 4 and 5 star ratings, and were disappointed that our experience did not reach our expectations.Maybe the cabins are better, but we stayed in the lodge on the second floor and it was dark and in need of a facelift. The comfortors were stained, the towels were worn... More

HCL offers things you cant find in a hotel. The staff was friendly. It has great 24 hour hot tubs (3) and sauna, fireplaces in cabins, free firewood, good breakfast, huge yard, pretty stars to look at, grills, fire rings. The cabin was insanely clean. The price was great in off season. Hope to stay again.

My husband and I stayed a night here, en route from Moab Utah to northern NM. While located a few miles out of town, the setting is worth it and the lodge office very accomodating with a great little sitting area/fireplace. We did not take advantage of the outside hot tubs and sauna or the grills and the restaurant next... More

Since you were here, we have painted all the exteriors of the cabins and the entire lodge, and are almost done painting the interiors of the rooms. We hope you will come back and see us the next time you are here in the... More

We spent 3 nights in one of the small cabins, and got a great rate since it was off-season. We have stayed in the Lodge rooms before, and they are perfectly nice and clean but this time we decided to try one of the cabins. We had a large studio with a stone fireplace, two queen beds, a bathroom with... More

We stayed one night in a small cabin while passing through Pagosa Springs. The desk clerk was very friendly and made sure we had everything that we needed. We enjoyed building a fire in the wood stove since it was a chilly spring evening. The road noise was a little loud due to the sound of the passing semi trucks... More

We stayed in one of the small cabins (two double beds, toilet/shower, small kitchenette) for four nights while visiting relatives in Pagosa Springs in early May. Got great rates because it was the off season. Place was clean, beds were very comfortable, and we could either cook our own breakfast or have their continental breakfast in the nice dining area... So glad you got the chance to stay with us and enjoy our off season rates. April and May are a good time to visit because it's not busy and you can have a quiet stay. The hiking trails and hot springs resorts are uncrowded and restaurants aren't that busy. But Pagosa is great any time of year, so come... More

Stayed in a "lodge" room for 1 night. This is really more of an old style motel with upper and lower outside entrances. Has the feel of a well worn Super 8 or Motel 6. Located right on the highway. Can't understand the 4 and 5 star reviews at all (maybe the cabins are great). Would not stay here again.

It really makes us sad that you didn't like us, because we really try hard to make everything as nice as possible for our guests. While you were here, we were taking bids on painting the exteriors of the lodge and cabins, and the painting has now been accomplished. In addition, we are updating the interiors of all the motel... Stayed one night in motel, second floor room. Cold, snowy night so room's warmth was welcoming. Exhausted after wintry travel so comfy bed/pillows were wonderful. Linens smelled clean (bleach) but both towels and bed sheets had brownish stains. Woke up at midnight to neighbor's loud TV and partiers' voices. Also, mini-fridge not plugged in when we got there so after... More

This is one of those times, when a call or a visit to the front desk would have made all the difference. We often open the breakfast a bit early, especially on weekends. And we accomodate special requests-just let us know you need to leave early and you can make a breakfast plate the night before to give you a... More
