I called to St. Elmos to ask about pricing and spoke with the owner of the property who quoted me a total price for a two night stay. However, I first needed to check with my wife to before I confirmed the reservation. When I called back later that evening and tried to book the room and rate, the hotel... More

You come to Ouray in late October and it WILL be quiet. We were the only guests in the St. Elmo this night, 10/24. Our third stay here. Quite delightful. A historic hotel, but no, we saw no ghosts. No TV or phone in the room, but they do have Wi-Fi. Duh. More

This was a return visit for us, after 15 years, and we were delighted to discover that the St. Elmo is still as charming as ever! The owners assure that their guests enjoy every amenity in this lovely little inn. The gourmet breakfasts were fabulous, and wine & cheese was a nightly treat. More

We booked the couples special, two nights with breakfast each morning and also a dinner in the restaurant in the hotel, the Bon Ton. Great value! We ended up with a huge room, with both a king and a queen, a separate sitting room and bathroom. While the package included breakfast in bed, we went downstairs each morning to get... More

This was our second stay at St Elmo and both times we went away marveling at what a great little place right on the main street in Ouray. Yes, the rooms are small and there is no TV in the room but that just makes it quieter. The breakfast is wonderfull. The evening social is a nice touch and the... More

This hotel is decked out in 'true Victorian style'. In reality it's chinzy with plastic flowers, Laura Ashley wall paper from the 70s, carpets like you gran likes and a mixture of cheap repro furniture with occasional nice pieces in the common areas. The overall effect is tasteless and tacky. To complete the vicotoriana feel there are no coffee or... More

We came to Ouray for a mini-honeymoon and stayed at the St.Elmo using the 2-night romance package. It was a very nice stay, there was a five star restaurant on the premises, and everyone was so helpful. I would recommend this hotel, absolutely! More

The St Elmo Hotel takes you back to 'your grandmother's home' as my daughters described it to their bfs. Indeed, no elevator (must learn to travel lighter), floral wallpaper, high ceilings and Victorian lace and charm everywhere. Outstanding buffet breakfast with made-to-order hazelnut pancakes and sausage the day we were there. Say hello to Frack, the bird in dining room... More

The review before this one describes it well. As a man alone and cheap I got a very small and old-fashioned room with limited amenities -- I see from other reviews there are larger rooms -- but it was clean, and well and thoughtfully maintained. There is great charm in the small hotel -- well placed in a town that... More

We enjoyed our stay at the St. Elmo! It's small--maybe eight rooms, but everything is historic. It's like traveling back in town. Room are small, although well appointed. The bathroom is tiny, only a shower and toilet. Sink and mirror are actually at the far end of the room. Our room had two period sitting chairs with a small table... More
