Great location, good size rooms, ok quick breafast included along with a couple of drinks at happy hour. The drinks which include craft beer on tap is served in the breakfast area so it is kind of weird to drink beer surrounded by cereals, etc. Indoor pool and hot tub is nice and is set in the center of the... This property is centrally located close to old town. Its facilities are rather dated and in kind of odd arrangement. Our room was facing the indoor pool and entrance door was in glass providing little intimacy. I would have rather prefer a room with access from car park.

I am so sorry that you were disappointed with your room. We do have several options here at this hotel. We have inside rooms that do not have the glass door and outside rooms that do not have the glass door. We would have been happy to relocate you had we known of your disappointment. We do have a great... More

We are been impressed with this motel. Its a block from the historic downtown area, which is full of resturants, etc. The customer service is as good as it gets. EVERYBODY is friendly, well mannered and helpful. Room was clean and well appointed. Free drinks in the evening hit the spot. Highly recommend this place from all perspectives.....

Excellent location for the train ride and you can get a discount on the room wif you buy the train tickets through the hotel. The indoor pool was nice. The room was small but more than adequate. I'd stay there again.

I liked the hotel but it is kinda a hotel/motel some rooms have outside halls. There is a free breakfast which was nice and the price was not bad. I did not like the front desk that I was a diamond level at best western and they would not accept it. The beds are old but the pillows were new.... More

Very nice staff and we got a little surprise when we got there, two free drinks for each adult! The boys (age 13) loved the indoor pool. The breakfast was wonderful. Would recommend this motel to everyone!

We used this hotel as an overnight stay on our trip to northern Colorado. We were pleasantly suprised by the nice town of Durango. This Best Western (there are two more in Durango) is located next to the historic city center. Shops and restaurants are at walking distance, and the railroad station is too (Durango - Silverton Railroad). Anyway, our... More

Thank you for your input. Our rooms with 2 queen beds do not offer a balcony but with the exception of the ground floor units, our king bedded rooms do provide this option. I do apologize for the groups in the pool area. I would guess that they were here to go skiing and were gone during the day so... More

My stay at the Best Western Plus Rio Grande was very enjoyable. Friendly staff, clean rooms, with large screen TV's and walking distance to the entire downtown scene. Thank you so much for the review. I do agree it can get noisy inside by the pool if there are a lot of kids in house. We did have a few schools on spring breaks in March so there were times when they were enjoying the pool. The hotel is in a great location, close to shops, restaurants, and... More

We visited Durango to tour Fort Lewis College and ski at Purgatory (Durango Mountain). It was beautiful and there were friendly people everywhere. The hotel was in a perfect location just off of the Main St. w/beautiful vistas off the back side. We stayed in a suite room that had bedroom and kitchen area. Aside from a somewhat lumpy sofa...
