We've been staying at this small motel in Basalt for over 20 years. The recent remodel of the rooms gives the property a fresh updating. Although the rooms are still a basic motel style, they are clean and fresh. Basic breakfast is included in room price. Be sure to ask for a room on the river side, ground level so... More

I have been staying at this hotel for over 25 years, my dad would take me and my brother to the area to fly fish, so many memories. Get a room on the river if you can next to the hot tub, many a great afternoon sat in that hot tub, watching the river roll by tellign old fishing tales,... More

Night clerk polite, staff responded well to battery low beeping from my fire detector. Property is tucked behind other businesses, weakly signed, and hard to find on a dark rainy night. Riverside Grill is right there for easy dining, but walk a block and look for the Two Rivers Cafe and Bar if you have the energy. My rate of... More

I booked lodging at the Aspenalt Lodge through hotels.com. Hotels.com said there are no charges. Aspenalt had a 48 hour cancellation policy. I cancelled several days prior to the 48 hours. I was charged an inter-net booking fee. I called the hotel and told it was an inter-net booking fee. I emailed hotels.com and was told it was a hotel... More

When you get a business rate, plan to deal with your room no matter the condition! When we used the toilet, water would leak on our feet. When explaining this to the night staff she simply said the owners are at a dinner party, can it wait until the morning, well to be nice and accomidating we said ok. (We... More

The Aspenalt Lodge is a great choice if you want to be near Aspen without paying Aspen prices. Aspen itself is a 20 minute drive down the highway, as is Glenwood Springs. The key to the Aspenalt Lodge is getting a room next to and facing the river. These rooms give you a great view of the running river (just... More

As a graduation gift to two grandchildren, we toured part of Colorado. We did not make reservations in the Aspen area as we thought there would be lots of rooms available. However, they were having the annual food and wine festival and there were no relatively inexpensive rooms available. So I checked on TripAdvisor for the closest alternative. The reviews... More

Very comfortable motel right on the Frying Pan river. Very close to everything in town, friendly service, and clean. Continental breakfest only nothing to fancy, coffee, juice and cereal. We felt this was the best motel in Basalt.

This is NOT a 5 star hotel but in Basalt you wouldn't WANT one. The location of this small motel is right along the Frying Pan river and, when it's running, there's a lovely sound from the river. It's lovely to sit and watch it flow by, as well. While nothing fancy, the rooms are large with microwave, fridge and... More

Rooms were a little dark but had all necessary facilities and spotlessly clean. We had a room by the river which was well worth paying the extra as we could sit in the garden by the water and hear the river at night.
