We have one regret about going to Wilbur. We should have stayed another day! It is really relaxing to be there, and was one of the highlights of our week in California. The front desk staff is highly variable, so don't expect speedy service and sometimes you'll get it. The waters are amazing. I think our favorite part was how... More

The water is what it's all about. We've been to a whole bunch of hot springs all around the world. I have to say Wilbur has the hottest flume at 114 if you can handle the heat. The water is chalked full of minerals and leaves you feeling silky smooth and refreshens your self and spirit. We camped out and... More

I've been going to Wilbur for 10 years-It does have a 'camping' feel to it, but it is the best water on the west coast, so it is worth it. Natural occurring lithium in the water makes you totally relaxed. The library and the pool table are great perks. Embrace your inner-hippee, bring your own food and wine, and be... More

The first word that came to mind as I stepped out of the car at Wilbur was "serenity". There is a peace and quiet,an energy that settles over you almost instantly - it truly is an amazing "sanctuary for the self". I spent a lot of time researching hot springs in California and Wilbur struck a chord with us as... More

I've been a regular at Wilbur for many years. To me the ambiance, the healing properties of the waters, the old hotel built in the 1800's, and the vast acreage surrounding it are unparalled. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. There's a music room with a piano, a guitar, and other instruments, a well stocked library, and... More

I'm a disabled veteran, often confined to a wheelchair but luckily able to use my cane this trip. The folks at Wilbur were made aware of my limitations when they booked the room for me and told me there were only a "few" steps down to the springs and into the hotel premisis. When pressed for what a "few" meant,... More

Stayed there one night to relax in their hot sulphur springs. Away from it all, don't expect to have cell phone connection or internet. The spa area is nice and you can soak for hours in the different hot tubs. Room was clean and cozy, no keys, it's kind of a hippie atmosphere. Bring your own food, you can cook... More

This 24/5 to 24/7 on-call gal needed to unplug and relax, and I finally found it here on the 1800 acre, solar-operated, off-the-grid, mineral bath retreat. It was fabulous. I soaked, I ate gourmet food that I brought and prepared on my schedule, I read, I contemplated and I enjoyed my significant other's company. It's clothing optional only in the... More

I just got back from a wedding weekend at Wilbur Hot Springs and had an amazing time! The place was rustic and magical, and was a great place to hold a wedding weekend. We rented out the entire place, and used the communal kitchen to cook our meals. Late night dips in the hot springs were incredible, and mid-afternoon yoga.... More

Oh my gosh thank you so much. We are so happy to be interacting and communicating with all of you out there - thrilled to be on here, chatting with our guests! It is too kind of you to take the time to write a review about Wilbur - but what's more is the glowing sentiment.... coupled with how important... More

I disagree with a lot of the negative reviews. Many of these types of clothing optional hot springs ARE pricey, but keep in mind you aren't paying 175 for just the room, you are paying for the room and the use of the pools (which are open 24 hours). I usually go off season and pay closer to 140 for... More

Cheers and good day, and thanks to you - not only for taking the time to write a review, but for your graciousness and enthusiasm about our grounds! It is true that the price includes the springs round the clock, but we also like to think that the extra couple bucks a night keeps us relatively hidden, removed, and less... More
