The best time to go is winter- less people, less noise. I've never had a problem with staff but I've never run into anyone but front gate. I do think 6 bucks on the weekend for day use is high. The waterpark is fun in summer but it gets way too crowded on the weekend. In winter, its closed. Fishing... More

My family and I come to Lake Skinner a few times a year to relax and enjoy the park. This past August we were camping next to some people who very rude and drinking. They were playing some kind of toss game right in front of the camp site next to them and it wasnt even their site. They were... More

First off, we are avid campers. We have camped all over California and Arizona. We decided to camp at Skinner because it was close to home and we wanted to form our own opinion. We have children ages 8 & 10 and camp with 5 other groups. The only positive thing about Skinner is the park is clean. The biggest... More

I booked a group spot for New Years Eve about 1.5 months ago for 12 spaces with full hookups and was charged the full amount for 3 nights ($690). Keep in mind this is for New Years and I have people committed to the celebration, time off work, and my money is on the line due to cancellation policies. So... More

Just returned ffrom a 3-day stay at Lake Skinner. There were six adults and two young children in our group. We stayed in Camp ground 'C'. It has been about 28 years since I was last at Lake Skinner. At that time the trees were no taller than 6-7 feet tall and I only remember the place being very hot... More

Camped at Lake Skinner the weekend of July 23-26, 2010. We had a large group consisting of 26 sites / approx 120 people total. We stayed in the group rows of the 'C' area with a few extra sites. The rangers were INCREDIBLY helpful in working with us to get our group to the proper sites. As coordinator, I stayed... More

This place was terrible. I would recommend all campers boycott this place. First the rangers are rude, the one camp host we saw was friendly though. Second, leave your pet at home, not dog friendly at all. Thirdly, tons of rules, but the only ones enforced were the ones that deal with dogs, or parking. Loud music and partiing unti... More

The park is beautiful. The lake very clean. The environment is nice but make sure you bring your own food. The restaurant they have there has the worst service I have ever experienced. They never brought us out water, sliverware or drinks. we had to walk up and ask for our drinks and silverware even after we were served our... More

My family and I have been camping at Lake Skinner for over twenty years and sometimes it gets a little noisy but we have usually felt safe. This past weekend all of that changed. There were no camp hosts available in our Group C Campground. They were all gone for the night. Apparently there was no one in Campground B... More

We had been warned by friends to stay away from capmground "A" and "B" and that warning was heeded. Those lots were nothing but one big party. Stayed at Lot "C" instead. Our first night was perfect. No noise, only a few respectful nieghbors in the whole Lot. By the middle of day two (Sat) we could see trouble brewing... More
