Can be hard to find, is about a mile east of the Tecopa road junction. There are three grades of accommodation - hostel rooms, guest rooms and Tipi. The quirky offbeat nature of Cynthia's fits exactly with the desert town in which it is located. Don't come here if you expect an 'international hotel', this is just about as far... More

I am in Guernsey/UK but visit this region every 18 months or so and adore the Tecopa area. I might visit Death Valley 'central' for a day or so but Tecopa is my base. Cynthia is a wonderful warm person and host, offering both Hostel and Tipi. Choice should depend on your budget and/or the experience however everything is terrific.... More

Where else can you sleep in a luxurious bed with comply off white linens in a tipi with coyotes barking, frogs ribbeting, and stars that are so bright. Cynthia herself is a happy desert rat. We sat outside our tipi and drank wine and watched the stars come out overlooking the date grove and nearby hill. We saw satellites, shooting... More

We found out about Cynthia’s by sheer chance one day while I was surfing the web planning our vacation, I am so glad that I did! Staying here for a couple of night was without doubt one of the best decisions we made, the place can be a bit hard to find if, like us, you are staying in a... More

Went with friends in January 2012 and loved our stay. If you're looking for comfort, a friendly atmosphere and no stress, this is the place to stay. Cynthia is a wonderful host, willing to provide suggestions (she draws great maps) for eating, hiking or local natural hot springs! Whether visiting China Date Farm, sightseeing or hiking the Amagosa Canyon, Cynthia's... More

I stayed in the Gypsy room and it was absolutely beautiful. The area is wonderful, the Crow Bar restaurant is delicious and the China Date Ranch has the best date shakes and beautiful hiking trails. I enjoyed Cynthia's so much I am making a return trip in March

We stayed for two nights and drove to Death Valley NP from here during the day. The area around Tecopa is one of the most beautiful places in the West, and the staff at Cynthia's was knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and super cool. We stayed in the room inside the trailer (not sure which of the two) and found it to... More

Cynthia's is incredibly funky. Cynthia herself is fabulous, she is friendly and warm and her knowledge of the area is a wonderful resource. We used her place as base camp for 6 nights--we made forays into Death Valley, the Amargosa Canyon, Ash Meadows, and the Mohave. She even suggested a great canyon to check out on our way back to... Very impressed with the setting in a small oasis in the desert, i stayed in the wigwams which were warm and comfy thanks to our fire place and electric sheets. the walks around cynthia's were the highlight and cynthia was very kind to draw out maps and recommend routes. if you are looking to get away from the hustle of...
