We lucked out and enjoyed a mid-January sun-filled day of 65 degree weather. It got cold at night, and it was a little hard to keep the room temperature comfortable, but all in all, a very nice stay. I would love to come back in the summer. The beach is so close, you can hear the waves crashing in the... More

We stayed at the Sandpiper in November and had a wonderful stay in the 2 bedroom, Cabin #10. If you like a rustic setting with the sound of crashing waves to sleep by, you will love it here. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The accomodations are not fancy, but are clean and comfortable. A classic beach... More

The Sandpiper is distinctive in that Stinson Beach has very few lodging options. It is a 1950s style motel, and is very well kept. We had a two bedroom unit - beds were comfortable and it is extremely quiet. It is only one block from the beach and the walk is so easy to do! There is a stunning garden,... More

Rooms are impeccably clean and filled with lots of nice amenities to make your stay comfortable. The staff goes out of their way to make your visit pleasant. In addition to the well appointed rooms, guests can choose from a wide variety of DVDs, books, and board games --- perfect for a stormy winter's night at the beach! All rooms... More

We enjoyed the Sandpiper and Stinson Beach. We arrived late, after a long haul flight, and our keys were left out. It was great to open the door into a clean, comfortable, spacious room tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The town is charming, with a buzzing bar with delicious food and a diner that does a good breakfast.... More

My husband and kids stayed at Sandpiper Inn last year and had a great experience - didn't want to leave. So, this year, just my husband and I returned for a holiday and wanted to enjoy the beautiful and fragrant gardens and beaches and quiet, sleepy little surfing town of Stinson Beach. However, we didn't get a decent night's sleep... More

Stinson Beach is about an hour north of San Fran on Hwy 1 but it might as well be a thousand miles away. It is a sleepy little beachfront town with mega character and is perfect for anyone trying to get away from the big city (any big city) for a few days. If you look on-line for places to... More

We spent one night here and were very pleased with the hotel. Stinson Beach is a small, relaxing place and we enjoyed a great, clean and well run hotel as our stopping point. The town has a couple of restaurants- Parkside Cafe for a great breakfast- they even have a fireplace. And another further into town for dinner. More

We stayed in Cabin #9 w/ our two young children for one night. The children had their own little bedroom, the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and Stinson Beach Market, a short walk away had excellent organic groceries. The grounds have a beautiful garden we spent quality time in with comfortable, padded yard furniture. Beautiful flowers all over the... More

This was nice and has close access to the beach. None of the motels in Stinson have ocean views. It was clean and quiet, but a little pricey for the age of the motel. In the Sandpiper's defense, I was looking for an oceanview hotel, but settled for a short walk to the beach motel. I would stay again because... More
