We spent the night after visiting the Black Oak Casino. The casino called and made reservations for us with the Play and Stay package. Basically, it gave us a 15% discount and upgraded our breakfast from continental to hot breakfast. We were given rooms on the Executive Wing which were newly upgraded. The rooms were nice and clean and the... more

When I'm on the road, particularly in the smaller population areas, I seek out the Best Western motel in the area that I intend to overnight. I did this with the Sonora Oaks Best Western, and what a great choice that turned out to be! Everyone there treated me and my wife like family and provided the warmest, friendliest reception... more

We spent three nights here while seeing Yosemite and Sequoia Natl Parks. Room appeared clean in open space areas . Bathroom had an unpleasant odor. The bathroom fan made a horrible noise for five minutes or so until it warmed up. Sink would not drain--disgusting. WE left a note asking to have it fixed----it never was. Water is TERRIBLE. We... more

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, the rooms have greatly improved having been renovated recently. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and dealt with any issues promptly. Our experience of the hotel was very relaxing, great access to the pool area and hot tub. The breakfast is served in the restaurant on the premises.... more

We stayed here for one night, and the bed was heaven sent for our travel weary bones. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The fridge wasn't on (which was a pain, but when plugged in the noise made us realise why it was off in the first place), and there are no elevators to get heavy suitcases... more

Great friendly, prfessional and welcoming staff. We felt really taken car of and every request was met with efficiency and a smile. The rooms are huge! The pool is huge too and the spa was REALLY hot! Very good on a chilly night. We loved the grass and trees surrounding the pool area...felt like we were in the woods. The rooms... more

As a diamond memeber - reservations on several occissions had to move from room to room more

What a shame! A guest gave our great hotel the worst rating for apparently moving their room. We have no knowledge of the incident or details to respond. Many times these moves, if they exist, are caused by the reservation specifics. We know by the the response of our many other guest that a score of "1" does not reflect...

We recently stayed here to save a few bucks on our visit to Yosemite. What a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were hors-de ouvres at night including beer and wine. The room was clean and roomy. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again more

Thank you for your wonderful response! We are pleased that you enjoyed our hotel. You are correct that some of the best values in the Yosemite area are slightly outside the park. In addition, you are near other great attractions and destination near the park. We are pleased your enjoyed our clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and.....the nightly Manager's Reception....

Easy to find hotel which was clean, comfortable, quiet and quite good location. We picked this area to stay as we wanted reasonable access to Yosemite National park and also Big Trees National park with other old gold prospecting towns and museums not far off. The staff were very welcoming even though we had to wait a little while before... more

Wow! What a accurate description of our area and hotel! Thank you for your comments about our cleanliness, comfort, quiet rooms, service and amenities. We are happy your enjoyed the complimentary served breakfast in the on-site restaurnant. Your feedback about the slightly noisy fan has been helpful; we did a tour and replaced a couple of marginal fans, just to...

The Best Western in Sonora was our second of four stops on our California tour. Sonora was picked because of the cost / distance ratio to Yosemite. The decision for this location had two important factors. 1) The wild fire status; With the start of the wild fire season, I wanted a “plan-B” should Yosemite have issues. Sonora was on... more

This is the time of detailed review and guide that should be in travel books., Your description of the benefits of the proximity and views of the Highway 120/108 western entrance to/from Yosemite are spot-on. Of course that fires are over and most are always short in this area due to great firefighters and a close FF air attack base....
