My workload is a nightmare, and I just had to run. I surfed and called around while I multitasked trying to find the right place to escape that would be unique and high-end enough for me to feel totally spoiled in luxury, but affordable enough that I wouldn’t be paying for it for the next two months. Thanks to Kelly... more

Recently I was asked to recommend a place for a weekend getaway for a friend in "meltdown" mode. Without hesitation, I said MacArthur Place in Sonoma. From the friendliness and professionalism of the reservation agent to the spa experience and the impeccable room, I had a wonderful getaway. I found the staff to be gracious, with just the right mix... more

In early January I emailed this property to inquire about a suite that cannot be booked online. After several emails to this date I have never recieved a response from this property. I travel alot and I use the hotels website to contact them regarding rate and availability and get a quick response to my request. This property needs to... more

This little gem is tucked away on one of Sonoma's side streets. It offers a resort-style experience that is calm and refreshing. The grounds are beautifully maintained even in the wet northern California winter. Starting at check-in, the front desk host/concierge, Jennifer was absolutely amazing. She provided excellent recommendations for dining, site seeing, and an array of fabulous discount cards... more

The fabric of the hotel is great and everything is well set out, but the whole effect is let down by a woeful lack of attention to detail (doors not shutting properly, inability of the staff to provide to get a Coke, or any beverage for that matter, at 11AM on a Monday morning, poorly informed servers, piped music that... more

The grounds are very nice and our room was fabulous, if overpriced. As another reviewer stated, we never saw anyone that worked there, no-one helped us with our luggage upon check-in, the front desk person did not thank us for visiting or ask us how our stay was, it was strange. We had a couples hot stone massage that was... more

I had the pleasure of staying a night at MacArthur Place recently, and loved the dreamy outdoor Japanese tub that was in the courtyard of my room, was blow away by amazing service, and beautiful grounds. A great get away from the city. Plus, I was able to pop on a bike and ride down town and hang out in... more

MacArthur Place, in the heart of wine country, has it all from nose to finish...you're greeted by a friendly receptionist and a purring CFO...AJ, who is the Chief Feline Officer! Don't get waylaid on the way to your room by stopping in for evening wine and cheese just yet...you won't leave! It's yummy, and I guarantee they don't serve Two... more

A very attractive hotel and grounds, ideal for exploring the local area. It's pretty expensive, but we liked it so much as soon as we arrived that we booked up immediately for an extra night. Attractive rooms spread around the equally attractive grounds, with a nice pool in the center. (Unfortunately our time at the pool on July 4th was... more

We truly enjoyed MacArthur Place. Our room was roomy and lovely with a porch and sitting area outside. Large Bath. Wine and cheese was so very nice. Concierges and staff were extremely helpful with our travel plans around the area and San Francisco. It was nice to arrive on a Tuesday and leave on Sun morning so we somewhat missed... more
