It was awful. I was happy to get a room, but soon as I registered I found that this is an old and very cheaply furnished hotel. Anyway, the rooms are small. The carpeting thorughout looks about 100 year old warnout and filthy. The bad was a hell. The mattress was warn out and so soft I woke up with... more

The hotel was the perfect size - nice, quaintly furnished, historic. The restaurant, located downstairs, The Girl and the Fig, was also fantastic. more

This hotel is located in the center of Sonoma downtown, and you can enjoy the park across the street. Hotel room we stayed was very small but had a nice OLD style of room, and we loved it! They offered complementary wine at evening and nice denishes in the morning. Highly Recommended. more

I was bound and determined to stay IN Sonoma and everything was booked. Sonoma Hotel had some openings, so I snatched them up. The location is excellent-close to lots of restaurants, a few cute shops, and Sebastiani is within walking distance. The staff was friendly. But-there is no elevator so you'll have to lug your luggage potentially up three flights... more

My husband and I stayed here for one night as part of a wider trip around California in March/April. We paid $148 plus tax per night for what was described as a ‘full-size room’, although when we arrived it transpired that the air conditioning in our room was broken so they upgraded us to a ‘superior queen room’ (room 30... more

Recently stayed at the Sonoma Hotel with a large group of family. The staff was wonderful with us each and every day. The front dest people were chatty and helpful and managed the different personalities of the group wonderfully. As we had a large group, they let us have wine and cake in the check in area on Sat night.... more

My husband and I keep coming back to this hotel. The rooms are small, yes, but there is so much charm in the hotel itself that we don't care! This hotel strives to preserve its historic presence on the town square. No electronic keycards or cookie cutter rooms. All of the rooms are unique! The location can't be beat, so... more

Stayed in Room 30, on Nov 8. Positives: - Good location - right on Sonoma town square - Easy street parking - Tasty continental breakfast (pastries, coffee, juice) - Friendly staff - helped get last second reservation at restaurant next door, easy check in. - Room good sized, with view of town square Negatives: - it is a bit noisy.... more

We spent two nights at the Sonoma Hotel. Booked the hotel because it is on the plaza and known as a historic building. The hotel is very old. People working the front desk not friendly. I could not tell you if they were the owners because except for an unsincere hello we were not greeted and welcomed to the hotel.... more

I stayed in the Sonoma Hotel for two nights to be close to a wedding venue. My mistake. I understand that the building has landmark status and wants to preserve a sense of "quaintness," but some upkeep and soundproofing definitely is in order! The hotel is centrally located in Sonoma Plaza, the town square, and right next door to decent... more
