The cabins are nice , clean , and the hosts friendly and accomodating . However the cabins are quite close to I-80 and the road noise is loud and constant . The yurt , which is a short walk , is quieter , or maybe it's just that the Yuba River drowns out the highway noise . more

Our stay was everything they promised. Most important was that we could take the dog (a loveable laborador). Not only was the dog welcome but there was a doggie blanket so she could get up on the bed without destroying the duvet and we didn't have to feel guilty or break any rules! I agree with the other travelers who reviewed Shinneyboo. The cabins and owners are great. The setting is spectacular. Only one problem: the highway noise. I didn't expect to be able to hear the traffic from I-80. It wasn't a deal-breaker but you should be aware that this isn't a remote camping experience. more
