We just stayed at Scotia Inn because we felt a need to really get away from the dishes, the laundry, and the same-ol', same ol'. We just live a short distance away, but wanted to check out what everyone was always talking about in the way of historic elegance. They were right. As we drove up, the facade transported us... More

We loved being close to the "Avenue of the Giants" since we were there to participate in the annual marathon. It was terrific to be in a historic hotel with the history displayed on the walls in the halls and lobby. The Inn staff maintained a clean environment, comfortable lounge area, and offered free wi-fi. We had a snack and... More

Nice old hotel in historic location. Good "pub food" at the bar downstairs. Rooms a little noisy which can be expected given the age but not a problem. We had a two bedroom unit with a bathroom in-between which worked great for the family. The free breakfast nothing to get excited or complain about. If you're hungry eat somewhere else... More

My husband and I love to stay in Historic Hotels, we will definately be back to the Scotia Inn on our next trip to the Redwoods. The hotel is well kept and our room was spacious and clean. We also had a tastey dinner at the hotels pub. The staff at the hotel and the pub were very friendly.

This hotel is a good value if you can get a room for $85 to $125 per night. We didn't know what to expect since the Scotia Inn isn't a place we'd automatically think of to spend the night or plan a birthday event. Having made a plan with friends to stay at the Scotia Inn several months ago, we... More

I wanted to stay at the Northern end of the Avenue of Giants and this location worked well. The town is small and quaint. Across the road is a small market to buy some snacks or a bottle of wine. And in the Inn itself, is a bar and restaurant. I was tired and traveling on my own, so I... More

We stayed on a Sunday night during the slow season and were the only guests in the entire grand old hotel. Redrum, anyone? What a cool experience, but i admit i was too scared to be left alone at night. Stayed on second floor in a room with one King and one Full bed. Very clean. Beautiful lobby. In-room TV... More

The Scotia Inn offers clean comfortable accommodations. The historic inn is more hotel than bed and breakfast. The staff is friendly and really worked hard to make us feel welcome, though I sensed that they were understaffed. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Fabulous period architecture including impressive redwood mill work, not surprising for a hotel that was built by... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Scotia Inn. It is in a great location to see the Redwoods and surrounding sites. We found the people who work there to be very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated to match the period of the Inn and quite clean. Although the Inn is old, the bathroom was updated and... More

The Scotia Inn was built in the 1920's and retains much of its original decor, including clawfoot bathtubs and pedestal sinks. Our bedroom and bathroom were both large and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the dining room and pub were closed during our Sunday and Monday night stays but we were able to have lunch in the pub before we left on... More
