We decided to stay at the West Cliff Inn , because of all the nice comments on trip advisor. Bad Idea! The inn is filthy. Our room looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. Large shower room means smaller bedroom area, though very comfortable bed. Breakfast and afternoon wine & nibbles create a very friendly atmosphere in which to meet fellow travelers. We tended to eat across the road in the Aquarius Restaurant in the Dream Inn. Be aware that Santa Cruz is well past it's best - think Blackpool USA ! Rough sleepers... more

My husband and I reserved a king deluxe spa room for his birthday. We were on the third floor. It was such a work out climbing the stairs to get up there every I came down to the kitchen. I would perferred an elevator instead. Also it was weird that I heard voices at 4 in the morning and flushing... more

A beautiful Victorian house, the West Cliff Inn is a very high class B&B as there is no restaurant for lunch or dinner... The rooms are superb - large, beautifully appointed with a bathroom to die for - I wanted to transport it home... (Actually there is no bath as such but a fabulous shower). We stayed here in August 2009. The staff we friendly and attentive and were very helpful. The hotel itself is a lovely old building that has been renovated to a very high standard and is in a good location. There was however one key problem with the renovation - no airconditioning. With the price you are paying to stay here... more

I stayed there for a week while at a conference (at the Dream Inn across the street) and absolutely enjoyed it. The Inn was really charming, home-y and everyone was super friendly. Great location, easy walking to boardwalk, beach, lighthouse. Wonderful staff, very attentive. Great breakfast and hors d'ouvres and cookies too! We traveled with 2 kids, they also loved it. Room was great, bathroom was amazing. The place is charming, great balcony to sit out and enjoy the view. Would definitiely recommend it! If you have kids ask for room 8.... more

My husband and I enjoyed a perfect evening at the West Cliff Inn. The property has been beautifully remodeled and is located in a great area of Santa Cruz.
