My wife and I went there in September. The hotel is quiet good for one night, San Simeon is not an interesting city but it's a good stop if you're driving between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is ok for a stop over during the pacific coastal highway trip , but on it's own or as a stay -over for weekend etc... it will definetely be poor... If you want to stay one night to crash somewhere safe and clean, it will work for you.
