After reading some of the past reviews, I felt compelled to offer my opinion of Bartels' Bed & Breakfast Ranch. My wife and I stayed there four different times from 2001-2006. Jamie who owns and runs this place is crazy. I mean really, she hid from us the entire 4 days we were there in a spare bedroom, only to come wondering out at night, when she would bang around the house and make bizarre noises and once we heard her crying very loudly. My husband and I decided to get away at the last minute to St Helena. Everything was booked! We ended up staying at the Bartels' Ranch even though the last review was horrible. Jamie was very helpful with dinner options and activities. She emailed us directions and gave us some side trip pointers along the way. We arrived in town... More

Jami Bartels the owner/innkeeper misled us several times and was EXTREMELY disorganized. Made us reservations at several restaurants using our credit card number then proceeded to lose the itinerary. We got charged 100 dollars for missing a reservation we didn't even know we had. Also she charged us an extra 25 dollars/night over the quoted rate and refused to budge... More
