Awesome camping right on the beach in the sand. Few things to recommend not to forget is firewood and lighter fluid and some ply wood or partical board peices to line up under ur trucks to block the wind (it helps). Plenty of beer n drinks for the family. Over all lots of fun kids had a blast. We flew... More

On a road trip in an RV from the beauty of Carmel, through Big Sur to Pismo and were tempted to carry on but too tired to drive. This was the worst RV site of the whole trip and the least helpful of all the State Beaches we have been to. It is basically a car park off the road... More

This was an unexpected find! You can drive your car several miles down the beach and set up for the night anywhere. It's a wide open beach. Sand dunes are to the back. Lots of folks are there to ride their dune buggies and ATV's in the dunes. So I could see this place being horribly annoying if it were... More

Do not ever camp here on a summer day if you like privacy. I like to feel one with nature not with a camprground full of people. I do enjpy coming here in the winter time during the week, but on a summer weekend...forget it! campsites were close together, the good thing was it is a walk to the beach,... More

Clean enough bathrooms and showers. Showers had warm water and there were plenty of them, but you need quarters for them. We were in camp sight 71. It was small and there was no shade. But it was overcast and not too hot anyway, plus it was in a good spot because we were not next to anyone else. We... More

I have never been to a campground where the rangers/staff were so incredibly rude. The lady we talked to at the front while checking in was very rude then we felt like we were being watched the entire time we were there. The rangers harassed us the second it hit 10pm while we were sitting around the campfire talking. They... More

Stayed for 2 nights and had a very nice stay. Campsites are close together, but as long as you have respectful people around your stay will be great. We had a very nice stay because their were a lot of young kids all around us who played well with our kids. The location is a nice walk to the beach.... More

This campground is wonderful for a place to get away. I have been going to this campground every year with my family since I was a small child. The RV and tent camping is completely separated by trees and a lagoon. The noisy generators don't bother the tent campers and the smoky fires don't bother the RV campers. There are... More

We were unable to even GET a campsite. The North Beach Campground is First Come First Served, and what a mess. I was told by the Oceano Campground via telephone that we had to go to the campsite, find an empty spot, set up our tent and pay. I asked Specifically if we could put out a reserved sign and... More
