I frequently visit friends in Paradise/Magalia and this is the best hotel in town. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a small porch for smokers. The pool is shallow (no diving!) but a comfortable temperture. The hot tub is warm and relaxing in a forest setting. The continental breakfasts include hot or cold cereal, assorted fruit and danish, orange... More

Very nice setting. Always stop there when in the area. For motorcycles it is a good place to stop since you can park near the room. Easy walk to good eats. Its like being at a quiet resort although it is right in town. Huge rooms, great beds, perfect patios and setting. Would have given it a an excellent rating... More

We've stayed in this fine motel in the past. Did not do so this trip as we were looking to save some cash! In the past, we've found the Ponderosa to be clean, comfortable and hospitable with beautiful grounds, large pool and fine hot tub. Definitely recommended. More

We have family in Paradise and go there to visit for a day or two at a time. The Ponderosa is an "old school" family motel--nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a double queen which was very spacious and quiet. Nice, clean pool but we couldn't get the hot tub to work. All in all, a... More

Loved the quiet and peacefulness of this place. Well landscaped, with park benches in different places allowing for an outdoor picnic on a nice day. Our room was quiet, and well appointed with nice admenites of a microwave, refrig, and coffee maker. The price was reasonable for a 2 queen beds. The staff was very nice and helpul. Breakfast in... I choose this place because they would allow the pet but as it turned out I didn't need to bring her. This was a business trip to Magalia and I needed something cheap. I also wanted breakfast and refrigerator because I'm not a fan of eating out for three meals a day and like to bring my own. My husband... More

This is by far the best place, outside of the Hampton Inn in North Carolina, that we have ever had the pleasure to spend our resting time, after the highways and byways. The price was reasonable (almost 100 dollars for two) and they even accepted our well-behaved cat, who we made sure did not damage the bedspreads or anything else.... More

This was a very pretty, clean and friendly place to stay. Their Christmas decorations were over the top. Wonderful room, great hot tub by the pool in a great setting. Would recommend this place for anyone traveling in that part of California. Will stay there again. More

We stayed at Ponderosa Gardens over Christmas weekend to visit family. The motel grounds were very clean. Our room was large with a king sized bed, small table with two chairs, low dresser/TV stand, flat panel TV, and side tables. The light fixtures were upgraded and the linens were new. The room itself was outdated with wallpaper, older furniture and... More

Very comfortable rooms. Great location in Paradise, set back off the main road, quite. Lobby has a gift shop and morning breakfast. Room has microwave, mini frig, coffee pot and lots of storage under the counter if you are staying awhile. Sink with hair dryer, large mirror outside of bathroom. Mirrored closet doors, iron and ironing board. In the bathroom,... More
