I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with our stay at the zen hotel. The room was very clean and modern. Hotel is about a five minute drive from university avenue. Excellent continental breakfast. Very happy with the service and the stay. I would definitely go back! Thanks, zen.

This is a great little hotel. The staff is very friendly and responsive. They offer some nice amenities such as bottled water in the rooms, fresh baked cookies throughout the day, a hot breakfast, and specialty organic teas to name a few. We enjoyed a room with a peaceful little garden area in the back complete with water fountains. The... More

Dear guest, We love you back! Thank you so much for your wonderful commenst about our service and amenities. I am glad you had a chance to try our newly introduced Organic Artisan Tea. We implemented this specialty tea as part of our breakfast only a few weeks ago (after considering guests' feedback) and we are receiving great comments about... More

The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very kind with me (got a free upgrade). It is well located (5min by car from Stanford) with several restaurants close (by car) to it. The only suggestion I would make is to include hair dryers in every room by default. In my next trip to Stanford I intend to stay in... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your great comments about our hotel. We are glad to see you found your stay enjoyable and that you will stay with us again when visiting Stanford. We agree with you that hair dryers are a must-have default amenity. We actually do provide them in all of our rooms as a standard amenity. I apologize... More

Our son studies at Stanford, so we have had a chance to stay at the Zen Hotel twice now. Yes, it is a "converted" motel, but it has everything we want in a hotel stay -- clean sheets and somewhat firm bed; FREE bottled water in the room; free breakfast; free wireless internet; and great service. The few times I've... More

It's all true, and the fact that I gave it two stars rather than one shows you how nice the nice things are. First the bad. 1. It's not a hotel, it's a motel. Courtyard parking in front of the rooms, noise that can't be shut out from said courtyard parking (though they try), and a view of...a parking lot...from... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay with us. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations and that you found the design of our platform beds to be a major inconvenience to you. We always appreciate ideas on how to improve our customer experience in every single detail, large or small. We are currently... More

For Zen purists, this is not the place, but for the price, it's very nice. This is a motel, formerly the Townhouse Inn & Suites. Our recently remodeled room was spotless, with very cozy pillow-top beds & feather pillows. (If you need a hard bed, look elsewhere.) Watch out for the corners of the black wooden bed platforms - we... More

If you are looking for a place to land for the night after an all-day shopping trip or wanting an inexpensive place to stay for business trips, the Zen Hotel is a place you can try. It is really what most of us call a motel, but when you walk into the room, you feel like you are in a... More

We were looking for a place to stay with our two kids that wasn't too expensive. At the Zen Hotel, we got a one-bedroom suite with a pull-out couch for a very reasonable price. The room was very nice -- it had a decent-size bedroom, and large living room with a kitchenette and a large dining table. The bed was... More

A very disappointing experience despite the promising reviews on which we based our decision to stay. We stayed two nights at this ‘hotel’ – a motel by any other name. This is not a hotel, but a motel that has been renovated (the rooms have been modernized and a slight attempt to make the parking lot to feel like an... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for sharing your feedback about your most recent stay with us. I am very sorry to learn that our accommodations did not fully meet your expectations. Our building setup is indeed an open courtyard, which allows our guests to park in front of the room. In additon to pictures of our rooms, we post... More
