I liked this not so little converted hotel on the South edge of the Stanford campus. It grounds were unique and very tranquil. The inn is worth the non-standard booking process. The rooms are clean, well appointed and have comfortable beds with nice linens. Liked it.

Perfect location for accessing Stanford University. All hotels in Palo Alto are expensive & this is towards the lower end ($270 a night). But if you don't have to stay in the district go elsewhere. Stayed one night at the Stanford Terrace as everything else was full. A bit slow on checkin but O.K. Room very large with microwave, fridge, knives (?).
