We liked this hotel and loved where it was. It was less than a 5 min walk from the ocean through beautiful sand dunes to Asilomar Beach. This is on the "wild side" of PG and we saw deer every day we were there. We were in room #14 with 2 adjoining rooms and 3 beds. The ocean view is... more

We have stayed at the beachcomber many times so here is the honest rundown.Dont expect 5 star treatment . It is run like the family own it even though they may not.It is a GREAT location and reasonably priced .The place itself is a bit rundown but nice nonetheless. Not a place for fussy travellers. The staff always seem friendly but if... more

It may be quaint and charming, but I'm sorry to report that it is also inefficiently run. When we arrived there at 8pm, the office was closed and our key was left out for us, but we were given no number to call in case we had a problem. Well, we had a big problem. We unlocked our room to... more

We found this place after driving through Monterey to find the Pebble Beach Golf Course. It is the old Motel style & needs a makeover. It is a bit tired now - but for the price in a very expensive area - you get what you pay for. The room was large with a king bed but the cleanliness of... more

We were on a roadtrip and were passing through Monterey to see the Aquarium. We decided to ask a local shopkeeper for suggestions on affordable places to stay the night and he suggested Beachcomber Inn. When I called, the front desk was extremely friendly and gave us a great deal at $89 per night. But when we got there, she... more

The room we had was quiet and clean. It had a couple of dings, but you can't beat the beds and the pillows. Room 26 was downstairs right next to the managers room, and they are really nice people to boot. The price is good and you are close to everything. more

I really wanted to love this place, and although I liked it in a quirky kind of way, I can't really give it more than three stars. I booked via their own website (which is a rather odd thing with it's own theme tune - check it out, it's surreal!). I received an automated email from them saying that I'd... more

I stayed 2 nights at the Beachcomber Inn with my 11 yr old son and we had a delightful time. Please remember this is not a Hotel or Resort; it is a small, very old seaside motel with all the quirks and charms you would expect from an older property. That being said, I rate it above average because I... more

Very friendly host, the room was clean and spacious. We took the offer of using free bikes and the breakfast includes waffles! Would definitely stay there again. Good value for an expensive area and very close to Monterey attractions. more

Nothing fancy but a very affordable.Suites best friends travelling together without kids who does'n spend much time in hotel itself, but want to explore Galveston staying on budget. We booked ours at $ 64 per room in July 2007. You don't see much of the staff or other guest but that is the beauty -the privacy!. Just cross theroad and... more
