This is the old Officers Quarters and O-Club on McClellan AFB in Sacramento. Rooms have been redone best they can to match a hotel, the rate is reasonable, accommodations are satisfactory, bar and restaurant are lively with good food. More

This is not a luxury spot, but historically it is interesting. It is clean and very well kept. The grounds are fun to wander around as you pass the Admiral's House and the various re-purposed vintage properties of a military base of days gone by. I have stayed here a few times and always find it comfortable and clean. More

The Gold Country Chapter and the USS Constitution Chapter of the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association (NERA) hosted the 54th National NERA Conference at Lions Gate Hotel, September 27 thru October 2, 2011. I am the President of one of those Chapters and I have been attending NERA national conferences for more than 20 years. This is the first time that... More

After 14 months of planning my daughters wedding we had a fantastic day with the help of the wonderful staff of Lions Gate Hotel. Through the entire process everyone was helpful in making sure that they knew exactly what she wanted her day to be. We used the Generals House which was wondeful and beautiful garden area. We had many... More

The room we stayed in was quite large. The furnishings were older but still nice. It was quiet and the continental breakfast was very nice in the mornings. My only complaints were that the toilet was very loud so I could hear when the person in the next room flushed and the door to our room had a weather strip... More

We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend 2011. Overall we were unimpressed by the 'hotel'. It's hard to call this a hotel though honestly. It is interesting to be staying at an old airbase's living quarters. You can feel the oldness though in the rooms. The rooms feel like apartments/ living quarters. Ours was a 1-bed king, suite. It had a... More

We selected Lions Gate Hotel for our 30 year high school reunion based upon prior events attended there, food and service were great. We couldn't have been more pleased with that decision! Our events manager Michelle was fabulous to work with, made our planning easy and was very accommodating. The banquet and bar staff were so pleasant to work with... More

We stayed 3 nights in June on a visit with family. The other lodging close to our relatives' house turned out not to be an option (reviews were scary). This turned out to be a fortuitous selection. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom just fine (though we did have to call twice to have the tub drain unclogged),... More

My husband and I stayed at the Lyons Gate Sacramento to attend a wedding during the Memorial Day weekend. What attracted me in the first place was the reference to "historical", "luxury", along with it being an old military base. When looking at their website, it looked nice and the picture of the rooms seemed a little obscure and simple;... More
