All I can say is I will be a repeat guest! Very cute little town, very friendly people. Felt at home and welcome by all hotel staff and everyone seen in passing on the street. Cute hotel with a warm old town feel. I am used to staying in Disney Resort Hotels so I wasn't sure of what to expect.... More

In the beautiful California Sierra Nevada Foothills of Calavares County sits this historic charming hotel that was founded in 1851 due to the famous gold rush in 1847-the birth of Molkelumne Hill town. This hotel is filled with history, friendly spirits, excellent staff, wonderful chef, and warm charm of an old building. A wonderful place for a getaway from city... More

I was taken here for my birthday and really loved the room. It was above the bar downstairs but I didn't mind the noise since I'm a night owl. There is a lovely fireplace which was wonderful with the log they provided and the bed was very comfortable. Wonderful antique furniture and balcony access only made it better. I had... More

We stayed midweek at the Leger in room #2. Our check-in was seamless as our hostess was prompt, courteous and showed us up to our room. Wow, that has not happed in quite some time. We ate at Franks café for 2 meals. (open 7am till 3pm) Everything in our room was in good order. We were a bit taken... More

So far the highlight of a two week trip to California. Stayed in George's room. No ghost last night.... The room had old-time oil lamps if you wanted to turn off the electric light. Neat old time town and hotel everyone around and staff were very friendly. Prime rib and all the food was Great! I only wish we could... More

Since the Hotel Leger is not listed under restaurants in Moke Hill, I am reviewing it here. Although we did not stay overnight in the hotel, we did come for their Easter Brunch. The food was all prepared by their chef, Chuck, and his helper, Andrew I think, who is a culinary academy student. Anyway, the food was quite good,... More

We saw the hotel when it was shown on Hotel Impossible. The Hotel, the people, and the town of Moke Hill are everything positive that the show suggested. We were welcomed in on a very short notice for three nights and then totally accomodated thru two extensions of our trip for an eight night stay at the hotel. Leanne, Heather... More

We enjoyed another stay at the Hotel Leger. Clean, quiet and comfortable in rear rooms. It's old so hot water can be dodgy if someone else is using it. Restaurant is very good and bar is jumping with locals and visitors.

I was quite pleased to see how well maintained this historic hotel is, it is always nice to see that pieces of California history are being saved. The first night we stayed in Room 11, which ended up being a bit noisy due to the band at the bar. The room itself was nice, very clean and with an attached... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Leger for two nights last fall. Though having an unconventional check in, (the hotel saloon), the room #13 was comfortable for the two of us and our small dog. The town was very quaint and we enjoyed walking around it, in spite of it being quite hot, During the night there was... More
