We took advantage of their off season rates even though we knew the weather might be rainy. After reading the positive reviews we booked the Violets Room for two nights. No surprises, as we expected the room small, and the bath tiny. The towels were plush, bright white, & fluffy, and the robes soft. Our room was cozy after lighting... more

We often head to Mendocino when we want to get away from it all. The Whitegate Inn is the best value for moderate to upscale lodgings we have found. From the inn, we can take a short walk to several good restaurants (955 Ukiah is our favorite, and right around the corner), or take a longer hike along the beautiful... more

Mendo was the first leg of our trip down the coast. We had heard conflicting reviews about the town. Some said it was fun, others said there was nothing to do. Ended up being the latter -nothing to do unless you are from San Fran and like to shop in overpriced boutiques. Not to mention the local teenage loadies hanging... more

We had booked a room at their second location, called Abigail Bed and Breakfast. At this location, dogs and small children are allowed. For us, this was not the case. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 young adults and I had booked Abigail House expecting as their website stated "A spectacular two story two bedroom apartment with... more

This is heaven. Mendocino is a great small town with New England architecture with a rugged coast line. This is a small beautiful house and we stayed in a suite which had a fireplace that was usable with wood. Bed very pretty and comfortable. Egg souffle breakfast and fruits, glass of wine upon check in. Good location in Mendocino. Owner... more

The Whitegate Inn is a charming B&B in a perfect location to explore the town of Mendocino and the Mendocino Headlands. My wife and I had a wonderful experience each time that we have stayed at this B&B. The accommodations are very comfortable. The French Rose room is my favorite; it has a view of the ocean, a wood burning... more

This was a long weekend getaway and we chose the cottage for privacy knowing that it would be detached from the inn. It was a great choice. The cottage was in the back and we had our own entrance via the gate which opened on to a private deck. We walked all over town and into the Mendocino headlands right... more

Well, my last stay there was the Second time I visited Mendocino, and the Whitegate Inn. Overall I feel its what a B&B should be. Quaint, cozy, and the staff are very accomodating. Built in l887, Victorian style, just like it was then is now. The dining room you have your two course breakfast has to be the best a... more

I wanted a special way to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I wanted to go some place where my dogs could come, too. The bed and breakfast Whitegate Inn in Mendeceno not only provided a wonderful escape, but charged only one fee per STAY per animal, vice a charge per night. The accomodations are not 'doggy' by any stretch of... more

We were delighted to find room at the Inn as our final 2007 gift to ourselves. We booked the Garden Meadow room, which is on the second floor. We were immediately taken with the gleaming white facade of the house, built around 1894, if memory serves. All was spotless and charming. The stained glass window, which serves as a skylight,... more
