The Stanford Inn by the Sea in Mendocino County was full of pleasant surprises. It's very pet-friendly; well behaved pups are even allowed in one part of the dining area. Our four-legged companions quickly became accustomed to the routine of having breakfast with us next to the crackling fireplace. The restaurant was vegan, not just vegetarian, and the food was... Stanford Inn by the Sea radiates an ambience apart from the tourism of Mendocino by way of thoughtful service, presentation in dining and quality of accommodations. Without pretense Stanford Inn demonstrates cullinary expertise in league with San Francisco's Millenium restaurant and reaps a substantial harvest from its on-site gardens. Guests are encouraged to enjoy being on holiday with their pets... More

We ran away here in a rainy April a couple of years ago...and I've not forgotten it since. From the luscious grounds to rooms perfectly comfortable for cuddling up next to the fireplace, I find myself unable to consider going any other place except back to here for our next vacation! Fantastic treat! More

This is a unique haven in a magical landscape. Mendecino is incredibly beautiful and had plenty of blooms even in February. The rooms are comfy and the restaurant is fabulous whether you are vegetarian or not. The food is beautiful, delicious and healthy, it just happens to not use animal products. The owners are wonderful, enlightened souls who make the... More

In a beautiful rural setting a short walk from the sea, this lovely inn pampers you with rustic luxury and fabulous food. The room is beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds and a fireplace ready to light. There are balconies overlooking the vegetable gardens that supply some of the food that is served, with views of the ocean and the horses,... More

I'm vegan so it's a treat to come to a place with vegan cookies in the room and a gourmet vegan restaurant where I can eat anything I want! Our room 231 was extremely quiet and we couldn't hear anyone nearby, nice balcony, fireplace and bed. The restaurant was so good, I can't begin to describe the experience there, and... More

We love traveling with our dog and visited for our anniversary this past year. The room's view was amazing...we got a handicap accessible room which made for an awkward shower (as with any handicap shower, it was hard to contain the water) but that is definitely not a ding against the property. A great indoor pool makes for a fun... More

We really enjoyed staying here. It was definitely a splurge for us but we had a fun time and really enjoyed our room and the great food at the restaurant. It is extremely dog friendly. The restaurant has a seperate section that allows you to bring your dog in and sit with you. The pool is awesome and the property... More

One of the best weekend get aways that we have ever had. We did the fall in love with life package and it worked! The messages were the best we have ever had, on th canoe trip we saw a magnitude of wild life from river otters to seals! We are big meat lovers however the food at Raven was... More

Oh how wonderful! We so enjoyed reading your review. It sounds like you had a truly magical time here. This is always what we hope for when guests book our packages...relaxing massages, delicious dinners/breakfast, and a fun time spotting wildlife on the river. And we must agree that the room balconies really do have amazing views - even at night!... More
