What a fantastic house in an absolutely great location. We saw hummingbirds, blue birds and wild turkeys in the garden. You just want to sit outside and relax!. The room was lovely with a very high bed that was really comfortable,Mary Ellen was a wonderful host who introduced us to a few new things for breakfast. She also gave us a... More

My wife and I had high expectations based on the reviews here and we were mostly not disappointed. Poppy Hill is in a very nice, quiet, rural location about an hour outside of Yosemite. It costs less to stay there than all but the most rustic accommodations in Yosemite Valley proper (a Curry Village tent cabin is less, that's about... More

I searched yelp.com n trip advisor for reviews on affordable hotels with great reviews. My boyfriend n I wanted to take a vacation together to Yosemite since we both have never been n didn't want to spend more than $150 with tax per night. We came across this B&B. It had wonderful reviews n made me excited just reading them.... More

We had a great time in Poppy Hill in the spring of 2011. the place is excellent in every way...rooms, furnishings, location, food, cleanliness, service. Mary Ellen has done a great job with this property. She serves a grand breakfast in the morning to start off your day and you end it with warm brownies, wine and coffee. Highly recommended.... More

I have slept there this summer with my girlfriend, while we were visiting the Yosemite national park nearby (not too far anyway). This place was actually one of the highlights of our trip to the USA. Definitely a magic place. It is lost in a beautiful and peaceful countryside filled with fantastic oak trees. The garden is beautiful, filled with... More

This place was perfect! Mary Ellen thought of everything you would need. It is also very clean and the breakfasts were yummy and there was plenty of food. I thought it was especially nice that she would give us cookies to eat during the day and that she had cake and wine when we got back at night. It's very... More

I stayed here with a friend during July. The home itself is outstanding. It's been renovated and well maintained. We were in the Willow Room on the lower level which was a good sized room and had a private attached bathroom(there are 3 rooms upstairs that we didn't see). The room and bed were extremely comfortable with feather pillows and... More

My fiancee and I took a trip to Yosemite in April 2010 (not 2011), and wished we could have stayed a bit longer. We were the only guests on the one night that we were at Mary Ellen's place, and she was a perfect host. The bed was comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the whole place had a rustic, romantic... My wife spend a weekend here at the end of April while visiting Yosemite. We had an amazing time staying at the inn. We really appreciated the hospitality of Mary Ellen and her family, with the wonderful home cooking, the snacks, and fruit, and the charming atmosphere of Poppy Hill B&B. The breakfast was wonderful. Definitely way better than a... More

We stayed 2 nights to see Yosemite and thoroughly enjoyed staying at Mary Ellen's home, it's beautiful and comfortable and you are surrounded by trees and gardens, it's truly a retreat. Her breakfasts were great, bacon, toast, frittata, fruit and juice. Her cookies are delicious and seem to be available all the time. She even offered cheese, crackers and wine... More
