The Avia strives to be portrayed as a high-end, modern boutique hotel. Yes--it is modern...yes, it is boutique-like...but there are shortfalls in room design and services that place it firmly in the "average" category. The front desk staff was friendly, but decidedly inexperienced. And the front desk was consistently under-staffed (at least when I needed them). Looong waits on the... More

Great staff- they went above and beyond! Amazing modern rooms, lobby and facilities. Attention to detail was everywhere- sleek accents and nice finishes! Loved roof top pool for an early morning swim! More

I stayed at this hotel for one night while on a business trip - the room was very lovely, very edgey, very clean, very accommodating. The staff was over the top and very helpful == I encountered the general manager during my stay and he was too wonderful for words More

I stayed at the Avia Long Beach for a business trip last week. The location was great, in walking distance to many good restaurants along Pine Street. The price was reasonable and the room was very large, clean and comfortable. The amenities were much nicer than I expected. The staff was also very nice and helpful. I ordered breakfast to my... More

Worst front desk staff in the history of hotels. Didn't care. Snotty. Nasty. Awful. The head guy in charge was the biggest wimp I have ever encountered. They could have cared less about me and my children. Do NOT STAY IN THIS DUMP More

This is the second Avia Hotel at which we have stayed but the first since Hyatt took over the chain in September 2011. The general vibe has not changed, although by joining the standardization afforded by joining the larger chain, the service may be better. It is a comfortable, modern hotel in the best location for Long Beach; easy access... More

This is an excellent place to be during Christmas. The place is quiet, relaxed, and peaceful. I was not a fan of the dinner being offered, so I headed over to a eatery within walking distance (less than a block away). The food at the eatery was good, but the drinks were even better! The hotels pool does have a... More

Stayed at Avia for four nights in December as we wanted to be close to cruise terminal for our upcoming cruise. Room was smallish but had everything and was clean. Staff very good and friendly. Had noisy neighbours who wanted to listen to loud music late one night. A call to night manager on reception had a prompt "I'll deal... More

My wife and I stayed here for a week - the 1st part of the trip was business for me, 2nd part pleasure. The entire staff is very friendly and accomodating. The bar downstairs is very cozy with enough room for a big group or small private areas for a more intimate setting. Breakfast was execellent. Restaurant is only open... More
