We decided to take a short weekend up to Mendocino form San Francisco and thanks to a Groupon deal we chose the Stevenswood. After reading some of the reviews here we were worried however none of the issues mentioned were true for our stay and we were very happy. Nelson was extremely friendly on arrival. We have two senior dogs... More

First the good; room was sufficiently spacious. Checkin was easy as was check out. Grounds are pretty and decently maintained. Now the "needs work"--The in room refrigerator needs to be defrosted (could not use the freezer compartment to keep my cold pack cold for the trip home). The in room coffee maker had no carafe--leaving us to inventively use it... More

Stevenswood Resort is nestled in the woods just off Hwy 1 and is surrounded by nature and animals. We saw beautiful birds, llamas, and they even have a house cat named Marco (he's a delight!). The views are amazing... there are trails to the cliffside bluffs by the ocean and down to the bay as well. We totally loved hiking... More

We just stayed there this last week. We had booked on Groupon and after reading the other reviews were worried. We had no problems. They did ask us about having dinner there and we made reservations for the next night and were so glad we did. The food was excellent. It was so nice to have a wonderful dinner then... More

So the main reason we came here is because they accept dogs. Very attractive building in a very picturesque setting. We got a "grand suite" and really, it looked good. Nice seating area with a table and chairs next to a large window, overlooking a lovely garden with Rhodes in glorious bloom and coastal redwoods surrounding the property. Bed area... More

Once again my theory that you must see for yourself rather than rely solely on reviews paid off. I received a Stevenswood offer via internet and invited our Brother and Sister-In-Law to join us for a two night stay at Stevenswood. Just before leaving, I read the latest reviews and just about paniced. We did not experience even one of... More

I thought this place represented great value for the dollar. The rooms are well appointed. The location is very convenient for shopping in Ft. Bragg or Mendocino. Directly across the road are some trailheads for great hiking along the shoreline with magnificent views of downtown Mendocino. It is also a short walk to the beach, a park and more hiking... More

Our stay started off badly when the co-owner asked my wife and I if we wished to dine there. We told him that we already had reservations for both nights that we were in area. He told us that he "expected" his guests to dine at least one night at Stevenswood and was quite insistent that we should cancel one... More

Just stayed this past weekend and all was fine until we received our check-out bill on Sunday morning with room upgrade charges for a room we NEVER upgraded! I went down to discuss with the person at the front desk who got very hostile and condescending - and insisted we upgraded - despite my proving him otherwise. This is FRAUD... More

The Stevenswood Resort is very nice. The "partial ocean view" is closer to a microscopic ocean view but all else is at least as good as advertised. But, what irks me is how they do business. Their advertised prices are way out of line to make you think you are getting a good deal when you take advantage of a... More
