We stayed at Manka's a couple weekends ago, in Annex #8. Things we loved: the cozy fireplace, comfortable bed, and some luxurious touches (Frette linens and towels). Our stay was comfortable but for the price we were paying we were expecting something more magical. Some of the decor missed the mark on feeling up-scale. For example, when we walked into... More

This was my husband's and my first stay at Mankas since the devastating 2006 fire that destroyed the lodge and restaurant. Naturally, we wondered how this stay would compare to our previous visits. Well, we needed have worried, because it was spectacular. Manka's owners have clearly done everything in their power to keep their inn as special a place as... More

Tucked away, not by the bay, as the picture might lead one to believe, but in the middle of a wooded neighborhood. The shower "window" opened below the neighbors backyard. The room was cozy warm with the fireplace, but the bathroom was unheated and quite cold - not what you expect for $400 a night.

Wow! If you really want to feel you got away and decompressed, this is your place. A little pricey, but worth it!The environs are gorgeous and quiet, while the interior of the cabin is rustic the has all the amenities.Breakfast served in your cabin is delicious, and we had dinner in one night and the food was amazing.Local, and organically... We stayed in one of the few rooms without a fireplace and it was comfortable and well appointed. Given that this styles itself as a high-end, exclusive lodge I was disappointed about a few things. We ordered the in-room dinner which was delicious but basic (although dessert was quite late and over-cooked) and for $58 per person it could have... More

This place is an oasis! My husband and I stayed in the Fishing Cabin and loved it! The decor was Ralph Lauren style - chic rustic! From the Kiehl bath products to the Frette robes to the tree growing out of our deck and huge gorgeous stone fireplace, we could not have asked for a more romantic spot! The soaking... More

Manka’s is a secret that I regretfully will share with the world. It is one of the last few places where time truly slows down and allows it’s guests to do the same. In this day and age where instant gratification is the norm, Manka’s allows you to understand the importance of spending quality time with someone special or simply... More

While we thought that at Manka's we'd have a storybook experience of relaxation in the "Sweet Suite," we soon learned that name can only have been intended ironically. Our experience there was an unmitigated disaster. From termite-looking bugs crawling the walls of cramped rooms, to a view of weeds and derelict kitchen appliances, to cigar butts floating in an ashtray... More

We stayed in a room with a fireplace and a private hot tub on the deck. It was beautiful, romantic and relaxing. The room is comfortable with a good bed, although even with the fire place the bathroom was freezing. Obviously, the private (seemingly chlorine free) hot tub was spectacular under the stars. We ordered the dinner, and for 65/person... More

Stayed with my husband here several months ago, and LOVED it. Very different from other places we've stayed, but matched Point Reyes' laid back, relaxed atmosphere perfectly. We stayed in two different rooms during our 3 day stay. If available, I wish we would have stayed all 3 at the boat house. Yes, it's expensive but very romantic, private and... More
