Unfortunately, this B&B has confused "unpretentious" and "quaint" with run-down and dumpy. This entire facility lacks any of the touches that make staying at a B&B enjoyable. The San Benito House Inn is an unpretentious B&B in a charming old building on Main Street in Half Moon Bay. That puts it smack dab in the middle of all that "downtown" Half Moon Bay has to offer: restaurants, art galleries, and quirky little stores. The garden was the perfect setting for the wedding ceremony . . . beautiful flowers and a lovely lawn . . . the staff was extremely helpful, never intrusive yet always available . . . the food was excellently prepared and beautifully presented . . . the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable and we were able to really enjoy ourselves... more

My husband and I stayed here for a Saturday night in February and enjoyed our stay. This is one of the less expensive accomodations in Half Moon Bay; it is an old building with about 12 rooms upstairs, and a very nice bar and restaurant downstairs.
