The hotel seemed to be newly renovated, very cute, boutique style hotel. They have a beautiful interior oversized spa, we also had a spa room. We were very close to downtown Encinitas. Walking distance to everything Rooms were very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. more

This hotel is billed as a boutique hotel near the beach with newly renovated rooms. It was, in fact,a dirty creepy place that I would not reccomend to anyone. I stayed at the Portofino Beach Inn for one week in the middle of January, 2008. The room was very nice. It was well decorated, very clean, large, with a nice tub/shower combo and separate vanity with marble top sink and blow drier.
