We went up there on a fishing trip, so we decided to stay at Toms instead of in Mammoth, what a nightmare the room was filthy it looked like the last time it was cleaned Reagan was President, the heater didn't work, the tv remote was broken, we tried eating at the cafe, let's not call it a resurant it... Well, we hadn't read the reviews before we arrived - but the experience was one we'll talk about for some time, and at least was memorable! First things first - the cafe was excellent - friendly, busy warm, plenty of food for dinner and breakfast, reasonable priced, fast and efficient service. The rooms however were (as others have described) very... More

Where to start........well, first off, I am reviewing the restaurant/general store. We stayed at a campsite up in the canyon and only went to Tom's for dinner and supplies. The place is like walking back in time. Neat general store that is perfect for items that you forgot to add to your list of things to bring and for other... More

Wow, the Tom's Place Resort was the worst lodging/hotel experience of my life and I have traveled a lot. I love rustic, quaint places. THIS IS NOT RUSTIC AND QUAINT (unless those are euphemisms for dirty, gross, and rude). We go up to Mammoth several times a year and have stayed in probably 20 different places over the years (from... More

We stayed labor day weekend, and spent the majority of the time at Rock Creek Lake. The people were friendly, the rooms were small, but comfortable. We might have gotten a larger place, with more amenities in Bishop or Mammoth, but the price was higher, and we still had to pay for more gas either coming up the hill or... More

I am a hotel snob and frequently stay as a comped guest in some of Vegas' finest hotels. I stayed 1 night at Toms place a couple weeks ago and it was definitely an interesting adventure! I just rolled with it and kept a fun attitude about it! The lodge is a little "Bates Motel-ish" but overall cute and quaint.... More

I can't believe that I paid $90 for 1 night. First off the employees are extremely rude and rushed with checking you in. They are cranky and old and you can tell that they hate their job. The rooms smell musty and dirty and full of Dust. The worst thing of all is that my daughter got eaten alive with... More

We stayed a French Camp. Needed some supplies and the lady that was working behind the counter. I believe her name was Sharell she was very rude to me. My husband is white and when he walked in first she was nice and said hello. I am Hispanic and walked in and said hello she looked at me with an... More

Tom's is rocking! Listen, this is a place that is perfect for the camper/fisherman. The camp sites are very close to Tom's allowing one to enjoy the great breakfast/lunch/happy hour atmosphere where the food, drinks and hospitality are friggin marvelous. For winter/skiing lodging you want to stay in Mammoth proper, but for the outdoorsman/real man on spring or summer outdoor... More
