We actually travelled in 2011... We stayed too long in Yosemite and found our way to Coulterville totally by accident. I must say what a complete happy accident this was! The locals were so friendly and helpful... Its a tiny town and the bar next door was open so we went in to ask if there's anywhere to stay only... More

The most wonderful "accidental find" of our last minute " no plans trip". What a great place!!! The people were so real and down to earth, so friendly. Rooms were unique and beautiful. The bar was authentic western and comfortable. The food was fresh and very well prepared. It was a surprise find and a great experience. Forrest and Isa... More

The Hotel Jeffery is an amazing value. I had no idea what to expect walking in the door, and was pleasanty surprised. We were greeted by Forest and Isa in the bar. I was invited to have a look at he available rooms, we stayed in 9, it has it's own bath room, a nearby staircase to the dining room,... More

Had a great evening in the bar with excellent ale and good food - no complaints there. But we did feel that the room had a few failings especially in view of the price we paid ie no bedside table or bedside light, and no hairdryer that I could find. I know the hotel has a wonderful feel about it,... More

In our search for a dog friendly hotel on the way into Yosemite I came across this hotel. Nice, quaint, historic hotel in a very sleepy Hwy 49 town. Great bar attached, very welcoming to our dogs. A nice place to stay a day or two on your way in to Yosemite via Hwy 120.

We stayed at the Jeffery on a Friday night in September. It's an old hotel in the cute little 1850 town of Coulterville. The rooms are small and many of them have shared bathrooms, but they are clean, comfortable and there are enough bathrooms on each floor. There are also rooms and two room suites with private baths. Downstairs is... More

Wow - I was amazed when we began to walk up the stairs to our room. Upon first arrival, I was fairly skeptic, but the reviews online said that this place was the best in the area. When we saw the decor, we could see why. I was amazed by the interior design and how well done this place is.... More

Stayed 3 nights over the weekend. Lovely room, friendly staff and great food! We loved the authentic decor and old western bar. Great location to access Yosemite and other local attractions. Forrest (owner) was particularly helpful and made our stay a very enjoyable experience.

We stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Jeffery for our trip to Yosemite. We had no idea what to expect of this hotel or Coulterville. We were met at the door of the Hotel by Forrest, one of the owners. He was very friendly, telling us about all the history of the hotel and the Saloon, which is the oldest... More

We stayed one night here before heading to Yosemite, and we were so glad we found this place! The rates are excellent--you can't even get a cheapo chain hotel in the area for these prices, and the hotel was fairly empty so we got upgraded for free to an ensuite room (which I was glad of because I was a...
