Clean, large, rooms in kind of a country French nautical theme. But, the location and staff make this place seem like a jail cell with nice curtains. This hotel has a staff that is very friendly and kind, if you just talked to them. We had car trouble coming into CA, but they held are room for us and upgraded it to a juccuzi suite, which was fabulous. We used their shuttle to go to Balboa island and So. I arranged for the bridal party to stay at this Ayres hotel in preparation for hair/makeup the next morning. The deluxe room was large effect for 5 people to do hair/makeup.
