If you read the mast head, then you have it all. Only one negative, and that is our room smelled a bit musty (It's four blocks from the bay) and they really did not do anything. I have stayed at most of the hotels/motels/resorts in Monterey and this is the best in Carmel. Highlands has a better view, but it's... more

L'Auberge is a gem. This little Carmel inn offers amazing service, warm comfortable chambers a top notch restaurant and is blocks from the Ocean. It is rather expensive and the rooms are very small, but to me it is worth it. There is a cetral courtyard with fountain that makes the perfect setting for breakfast (complimentary) and an evening glass... more

My husband and I stayed at L'Auberge Carmel for one night. We have two regrets: We should have stayed and additional night and should have eaten dinner at the restaurant L'Aubergine. The hotel is charming and romantic and the staff could not be more accommodating, professional, welcoming and friendly. When we pulled up, someone immediately walked out, took us to... more

What an exquisite property. We stayed here because the inn where we usually stay was fully booked because of the car show, and it was wonderful. The hotel looks like it was transported from the French countryside but is in the middle of downtown Carmel. The restaurant is fantastic but also quite expensive, it was our splurge meal for the... more

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights while traveling the coast of CA. We were at L'Auberge for our anniversary and had our anniversary dinner in their restaurant. It was the best meal we've ever had! Every morsel was amazing. I highly recommend the wine pairing with your dinner. It was also the most expensive meal we've ever had,but... more

Perfect location, right in town, great walk to the beach. The staff is wonderful, professional but not stuffy or stiff, they're accomodating, approachable, they have every solution, every answer, whatever you need. I loved them. And I needed to use them more than I normally would, they booked an appointment for me the day before I checked in, handled it... more

The Auberge Carmel is absolutely fantastic. I travel extensively in the US and abroad staying at all top hotels and inns - Four Seasons, Ritz, etc etc and this is one of my new favorite places to stay in the entire world. Location is perfect - just off the main drag in town - but on a quiet side street... more

HOTEL REVIEW # 169 L’auberge Carmel MY TRAVEL STYLE: If possible, I try to stay away from business hotels and strongly prefer resorts that resemble the Four Seasons, Aman, and Oberoi but try to find similar properties at lower cost. I seek out the “wow” experiences and I encourage you to view hotels I have stayed at and their respective... more
