We just loved our weekend at the Carmel River Inn. The little cottage was just perfect and the grounds where pleasently landscaped and cared for. The staff was exceptional, from the time we checked in to when we needed our heater re-lit and then one time where we didnt know where to get something to eat. All of this made... More

We got a room (cottage) for $80, which I thought was great value. I must admit, when we first pulled into the parking lot, we were faced with a very sad and depressing looking motel, thankfully though we given a map and shown a route to our cottage which was a little way back and looked much more picturesque. It... More

we thought we would be spontaneous and decided to stay overnight at Carmel. the description sounded good, but this place is not for you if you are looking for a 3-stars accommodation. this place is very basic, old tiles and paint chipping off. Our bed sheet has a dried up remnant of a bug. It is definitely a place for... More

Though this isn't the ritz, the cottages are "rustic" but the property location more than makes up for it. My recent stay May 9-11, included a friend and we both brought our dogs along for the fun. They provided two dog dishes so could feed them in separate rooms (if needed). They also provided a couple of "disposable pick up... More

I wrote a review of Carmel River Inn last fall. My wife and I visited it again this past week, so I'd like to add some tips on choosing a cabin. We've only stayed in a remodeled cottage. It was very pleasantly decorated with a comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, good towels, silverware, glasses and dishes for two. Our cottage was... More

The Carmel River Inn is promising, with the forest setting and charming cottages. Unfortunately, the majority of people are staying in the outdated rooms. For almost $150 USD you get essentially a motel with a few amenities. People at the front desk are very helpful, but the out-dated rooms really bring down the rating.

I can't speak for the cottages because we stayed in the hotel, but the hotel is more like a motel. The room was small and dark, the walls were paper thin, and the staff was completely nonresponsive. Both nights that we stayed, we were up half the night because of our noisy neighbors. The first night, people came in around... More

The hotel was great the staff was nice. Can’t wait to return the weather was perfect. My daughter loved the oversized tub. The wireless worked great to watch movies on line. Housekeeping had the room done early so my daughter could take her nap. If you’re looking for a beautiful quiet clean place to stay then Carmel River Inn will... More
