I stayed at Udumwara Resort with three friends for three nights to wrap up our 10 day trip to Bhutan in January and this was by far the best bargain. The rooms and bathrooms were really huge and were fitted with all the basic amenities such as mini-bar, safety box, tea/coffee making facilities which was free, free internet, umbrellas, bathrobes... One of the finer places me and my family chose to stay during our visit to Bhutan. The resort seemed very new with some of the infrastructure still lying under construction which made us feel quite skeptical in the beginning. But the moment we reach the entrance, we were greeted with traditional white scarves (which they call the ‘khadar’), herbal... More

If one is looking to put up for a place at Paro, then Udumwara Resort is the right place. I happen to go there on the recommendation of a friend and I must say that I was glad that my friend had recommended it. Given the busy schedule that I have back home, it was a complete treat for me.... More

We (2 adults, one child) were in the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and forthcoming, and we could really experience the hospitality of the employees and even the hotel management. First day, the wireless was not switched on immediately, so the manager offered us to use his office to check email. The food was excellent,... More

Undoubtedly one of the smarter places to stay in Bhutan, a great location and all the amenities and services one could hope for. Sadly, it may be the right hotel in wrong place. It feels like it belongs on the hot Indian plains and when we stayed for two nights in November the cavernous marble bathroom was chilly and the... More

Udamwara resort in Paro is located several kilometers out of town. First appearances are deceptive - it looks like a work in progress with driveway lighting and landscaping unfinished. Lobby furnished with a varirty of local arts and crafts. The rooms are great - the best on our 3 week trip. Spacious, clean, lightfilled, large opening doors onto a small... More
