Staying here is the alternative option to staying in Liberia to access Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja. This hotel is closest to the Santa Maria Sector of the park. Santa Maria contains beautiful tropical dry and humid forest on the slopes of the volcano, but be aware that the famous mud pots and better waterfalls of Rincon are on... More

We spent two days here. The staff was friendly, helpful, and kind. The rooms are basic but clean and the food is typical Costa Rican fare, but quite tasty. It's a beautiful location and having such welcoming staff made the experience even more comfortable. We loved the waterfall hike, horseback riding, and views of the volcano. It's worth the trek... We headed up to Rincon de la Vieja to see the volcanic highlands and dry or seasonal rainforest. This place is very close to the main entry of the national park. It is quite remote and therefore very quiet. It's a bit of an odd location, on the edge of cleared land for cattle and horses, but the forest is... More

We visited Costa Rica in the first week of March, which I guess is a really windy time of year in Guanacaste as it was windy during our entire 10 day trip there. Not only is it windy during the day, but also at night. Sometimes the wind was stronger at night than during the day. Unfortunately for my folks... More

Ended up staying in a nearby hotel due to this one being full, but we ate & did canopy tour & horseback riding thru Rinconcito Lodge. Everything was great. My 4 yr old son did the zipline & horses w/ one of the guides, who were incredible. The guides went above & beyond my expectations & made our trip incredible!... More

I had a great time staying at Rinconcito Lodge. It's a superb starting place for a hiking trip to the Rincón de la Vieja. The rooms are very nice and the staff was very helpful and cheerful - they even tought us some salsa dancing, and when they were out of beers in the evening, they drove for more than... More

Rinconcito is a nice place to stay if you want to stay close to the amazing Rincon de la Vieja park. The accomodation I got was basic and had what was necessary for me at the time, I'm not aware of the other facilities. The place is located in kind of the middle of nothing, but the guys working there... More

Don't get too excited about this place it's just a place to sleep when u go to Rincon volcano. But rooms are dark and average, meals not that cheap and management could be a bit more cheerful.

Ok. First of all, this property was highly recommended both here and by some folks on the Thorntree discussion board site. Our expectations were high, and in some important respects, they didn't match our experience. But before going to the negatives, here are the highlights. The food was very good, with enough variety to for a couple of days of... More
