San Simeon Pines Resort offers beautiful grounds, golf course and pool area. The Monterey Cypress trees are especially lovely with Spanish moss dangling from the branches. A light breakfast (including hard-boiled eggs) is included in the room price. During the day you may find yummy homemade cookies in the reception area. Other reviews state that the room furniture is outdated.... More

We've stayed at the San Simeon Pines many times while on our annual 4-day or so vacation to Cambria, staying here when we need to keep the prices more moderate, staying at the Fog Catcher when times are more flush. You won't mistake the San Simeon Pines for an upscale establishment. But the rooms are clean and comfy, the staff... More

Let's do the time warp again!! First off, any hotel/motel that has separate 'Adult areas' and 'Family areas' is awesome! I made a last minute reservation for a King Fireplace room. The people that handle their phone reservations weren't very friendly or helpful the two times I called. I discovered they save rooms for online reservations so if they tell... More

We have stayed there 2 or 3 times a year over the past 20 years. First as a couple and now with our 5 and 2 year old. It is perfect for both. Right next to beautiful lookout point to watch sunsets and otters. Or walk down golf course to Moonstone Beach, our kids favorite. Yes rooms aren't modern but... More

Very nice and quiet place to spend a weekend. Very very close to downtown Cambria, elephant seals, beach - just a great place. People were very friendly and helpful with restaurants and even which things on the menus were really good. Definitely would go there again! More

I loved Cambria. We went the whole central coast from la. We did Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Cambria & San Simeon. It was all good, but i liked pismo beach the best. With my 2 little boys age 5 and 1, the butterfly grove there was awesome! As far as San Simeon Pines Resort... it has a kind... More

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review of your trip up the Coast! As you pointed out, it is our outdoor activities that make us stand out from the other motels on Moonstone as we do offer things for kids to do, as well as being a romantic spot. And it sounds like you also... More

Cambria's Moonstone Beach makes you forgive many things, so beautiful, but.....to call this place a resort is pushing it. They keep the grounds lovely, just the rooms are very dated. Buy some matteresses please! More

While you are correct that our furniture is not the newest, we do pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our rooms, our beautiful grounds, reasonable rates and our outdoor activities. Because of that, we hope you will find yourselves back here again and we appreciate your comments. More

I remembered staying here with my parents many years ago and had great memories so I decided to return with my wife. We booked one of the cottages about a month in advance and was they were filling up and would probably get a golf course view room. We surprised on arrival to get room #85 - with a view... More

Stayed at this place last week and totally loved it from the moment we walked in . From the helpful and friendly attention we got, to the room, which was cozy and clean to the views from the place itself, which was like walking in a country style country house with beautiful views and then right in front of our... I stayed at the San Simeon Pines Resort twice in July - once with my husband on a romantic getaway, and then I came back with my teenage daughter because the place was so much fun and the area is so beautiful. My husband and I stayed in the "adults only" part of the lodge and our room was quite... More
