Funky & yes, there are parts that need to be updated, or ruins removed, but look at it as a work in progress. Can't beat the view and scenery; excellent restaurant and service. This property was obviously renovated on a shoestring budget---and never quite completed. The grounds surrounding the hotel looks like a landfill---dead trees, bushes, crumbling remains of old buildings that have not been removed since this property was so called "renovated". This was our second visit to the Palms and it was as great as the first. This is a small historic hotel with a lot of space. The pool was the perfect temp considering the air temp was 100+ degrees.
