We had a great night at the Padre Hotel. There was absolutely nothing left to be desired. Even a phone charger when I requested! Your wish is their desire! Such a rich experience! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who seeks superb service, unique design and surprising treats!

Spent just one night here in April on a drive from San Francisco to Las Vegas. Bakersfield was a convenient stopover but we did not have high expectations of accommodation options as it is not really a tourist destination. Quiet, restored hotel. Shower fell apart as soon as water was turned on. Shower is open to the room with only a curtain for privacy. Not cool.

The beds tempurepedic with down comforters - they are the most comfortable beds available. Fine dining is excellent - prices are reasonable in relation to the quality. Chef Bradley Wise is on a par with all great chefs @ resorts and hotels worldwide. Robert H Lund DDS

If you have to be in Bakersfield for business the Padre is the place. It is amazing how much good design impart upon a traveler. If you have ever looked at a design mag. and enjoyed a well put together space you dig this place.

A tip of the hat to the folks who rescued this iconic hotel!!! And how sleek and elegant! The place is great, staff were totally helpful and my only regret is I didn't play pool on the fabulous red felt table! The rooms are comfortable--the showers exotic! And the place is worth the trip.
