“Worst hotel on our trip”

On arrival late at night the desk clerk knew nothing of our reservation. Our room was unrenovated and without doubt the worst hovel we have ever stayed in. “Good for Chepe Travelers”

I stayed at the Montecarlo for just one night before taking the Chepe train to Chihuahua. I enjoyed the colonial atmosphere, the staff was friendly and helpful, giving me a wake-up call and having a taxi waiting when I came down (and telling me how much the regular prices were so the driver could not rip me off).
