This January we took our yearly winter trip to Algonquin Park, staying at the Mew Lake campground. The yurts are heated warm structures where one can sleep and eat. You must do your cooking outdoors though! The comfort station is open for hot showers and washrooms. The out houses are open for the adventurous. Check in is a breeze at... More

We camped at Mew Lake for two nights while doing a road trip in June and would consider planning a future trip just to go back . We were in the dog-free radio-free section and had a beautiful view of the lake and as much privacy as one could expect for this type of campground. We had neighbors on one... More

I stayed at Mew lake for 2 nights and 3 days in a Yurt, It was a great place to relax. Lots of hiking trails nearby, Biking trail right there, and a place to swim. The yurts held up to 6 peaple and were reasonably priced. The mattresses were not the most comfortable, but we got by for 2 nights.... More

This was my third time going to Algonquin Park for the fall colours, but the first time I stayed in the park. The campground was very clean and well-maintained. I stayed in a Yurt. There are trails right from the campground and I saw a deer and several smaller creatures (squirrls, chipmunks, ducks, blue jays, black-capped chicadees...etc.) I would go... More

Glorious, majestic evergreens, loons on the lake, starlit nights, friendly fellow campers and, of course, chatty little red squirrels all combined to make this a trip to remember. A magnificent lake and a well-maintained campground with great facilities - a laundromat, spotless washrooms and nice, hot showers. Wish I could stay on Mew Lake forever!!!! cc from Niagara

This was my first trip to Algonquin Park. My husband has been trying for years to get me to go there. The park is so very clean and well manicured. The Park Warden makes many trips around to make sure everything is going well. The Park Hosts are helpful and friendly. I can't wait to come back next year. That... More

Mew Lake is a lovely campsite. You can book it online via the Ontario Parks website, where you can also choose your pitch. All of the pitches are massive (well, they seemed that way to us, anyway), and even though the website listed the privacy of ours (131) as 'low' I thought it was nicely secluded and didn't feel at... Mew Lake is a very nice campground. It is basically separated into three parts. One section is a radio-free dog-free peninsula surrounded by the lake on all but one side. The main section fronts the lake but a large number of sites are interior - this is populated by RVs primarily. Then there is the far west section -- where... More
