Leaving Toronto and travelling by train to South River you begin your odyssey to The Edge a retreat like no other. Being from western Canada where train travel is not the norm the first part of the journey is exciting and different. When we left the train at South River different options to arrive at the edge were offered. I... More

If you love wholesome, flavourful, locally grown food, you'll love the Edge. If you love sailing down a quiet, empty road on a mountain bike, paddling in the ultralight Kevlar Swift canoes (I appreciated that!), morning yoga on the dock, or an evening around the campfire while the loons called out, you'll love the Edge. I just wish the wonderful... More

The 4-day canoe trip, guided by the wonderful guide Alistair -fun, knowledgable, professional and resourceful park activities expert- was nothing short of great experience, great pleasure. The beauty of nature is owesome, the padelling along the pearl-like lakes, and the camp life/acivities, morning splashes in the christal clear lakes, all this will remain in our memory for long time. Our... More

This was my 4th year at the Edge for a girls weekend. Once again the food was amazing, the yoga was perfect and the atmosphere was relaxing. The staff is great- they are flexible and let you plan your day around what you want to do. The buildings are gorgeous log/wood surrounded by wilderness (lake and forest). I would really... More

I came here for the Rails, Trails and Ales weekend not knowing what to expect, and came away totally satisfied with the experience. The weekend was well organized and fun, the mountain biking was an exciting challenge, the scenery was breathtaking and the food... absolutely perfect! The host was gracious and the rooms were comfortable and clean. All in all,... More

A heavenly location, heavenly hosts, and exquisite food. We have known about "The Edge" for years, but never had the chance to visit until this summer. I would return in a heart beat. Living off the grid (truly off the grid, not just a marketing statement) you can a real appreciation for solar powered living - without sacrificing the good... More

I went on the "In Full Bloom" Yoga Retreat at Northern Edge, and found it was everything I expected & more. Wendy was a fantastic yoga instructor - her teaching was clear, her personality warm, and her approach spiritual without being sacharrine. The place itself is right on the lake, in the woods - a lovely location. Food was great,... More

The weekend turned out to be a perfect fit for me. The staff, the food, the quality of the service, the women in the program and the yoga/sea kayaking balance/mix were all fantastic. I recommend the trip if u are looking to do yoga and be active in the outdoors. The yoga canoe trip sounds great too and would sign... More

This was a great long weekend. Wendy and Joanna were so gentle and encouraging with teaching us yoga and the sea kayaking (even though I had very little experience). The food (thanks Greg) was wonderful - fresh and plentiful. My only wish was that I could have stayed a couple more days. Such a good get away from phones, computers... More
