We stayed just one night at The Shieling in Plockton, but wish we'd spent the whole week here rather than moving around the country. The Shieling is less than a stones throw from Loch Carron, the Loch is at the bottom of your garden, we had a room with a loch view which was fantastic. The owners of the property... More

Wanted to book a hotel in Plockton but all busy - in September! The reason is the place is just beautiful, so thanks to the trip advisor's comments I booked this B & B, great choice. Very friendly couple, nice sized bedroom with en-suite, exceptionally clean, super breakfast. (Although for me, a tired and worn out soul, I found 8/8.30am... More

This was one of the friendliest guest houses we stayed at during our holiday in Scotland. We couldn't fault the accommodation and the food was superb with plenty of choices and home made bread too! The welcome folder contained lots of useful information about places to visit and sample menus from the excellent local restaurants - something not always provided... More

Having travelled throughout the Highlands..it was so refreshing to meet actual Scottish folks..............Most of the people we stayed with were English. Our hosts were delightful and their wee home was so sweet and obviously loved and cared for. Although there were no frills....it was very good value. The house was spotlessly clean.....and the bed comfy. The situation of the guest... More

Stayed one night at this small but excellently appointed bed and breakfast. A comfortable bed and adequate shower room made for a good nights sleep. The house is situated on the edge of the village within easy walking distance of a number of eating places for dinner. We ate at 'Plockton Shores' which was good value and provided a wel;l... More

A wee gem of a place. The rooms were spotless and the food was excellent. John and Jane are the definition of highland hospitality. Nothing is too much trouble for them. A very friendly and warm welcome awaits you here. The views were fantastic from our room and the flowers that were in bloom in the garden just added to... More

The Shieling was spotlessly clean and the service from Jane was excellent. A bit of updating might help but it was more than acceptable. It's setting was one of the most delightful places we have visited with Loch views from every window. We shall certainly go back for another stay as soon as possible.

The Shieling is a wonderfully homely and comfortable way to spend time in Plockton. From the outset you will fall in love with the location. The B&B is located right by the water and the garden is so beautiful that it makes you want to stopover. While the rooms are fairly basic, they are clean and provide all that you... More
