I really enjoyed this hotel - we were on the second floor, a short walk down the hall from a large reception area. The hotel was like taking a step back in time - suits of armor and other period pieces. Our room faced the Plaza Mayor and the windows kept all of the sound out. We ended up eating... More

We stayed @ the Parador Gil Blas for three nights @ the end of October. Everything was perfect, the staff polite, helpful and very friendly. Our room overlooked the terrace and was clean, comfortable and spacious, the bathroom large and quite luxurious. Breakfast was generous with plenty of variety. The Parador has an excellent location and Santillana is just the right... More

This Parador was our first overnight stop having arrived in Santander earlier in the day. We selected it because of favourable reviews and also because it’s relative proximity to Santander. We weren’t disappointed as it’s a beautiful building with lovely communal areas. Our bedroom was huge, beautifully furnished with a large bathroom. Finding the hotel isn’t that straightforward – you... More

This first clas charming parador is located in a delightful, although somewhat touristy, village in nortern Spain. If travelling in this part of the country, a stay here is a must. The food and service was wonderful. More

See the picture of the large balcony on the first floor (first Floor Europe second floor US) - that was our room when we stayed here - the staff were great and very helpful for us in visiting the caves. We had a GREAT stay here and would welcome coming back again - very very soon!!! More

What we didn't realise was that this Parador is in the middle of a mock medieval pedestrianised area that you can only drive through if you are a guest at one of the hotels. We rode around on the wet cobbles for quite some time before a policeman (who was clearly used to the question) directed us to the hotel.... More

A well restored Spanish mansion, lovely rooms, good food, quaint town. Probably just suitable for 1 night stay. More

The location in the middle of a medieval village made finding it by car interesting. One has to explain your destination to a barrier guard at the edge of the old village who generally prevents vehicular access into the town (no problem), and then find the front of the hotel. Tricky. But once done, parking is close and the area... More

We spent two nights at this parador and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in one of the suites and it was nicely decorated, in keeping with the ambience of the old building, and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and modern and all of the rooms were immaculate. There was a mini bar and a small balcony overlooking the patio... More
