I stayed here recently and was delighted with the comfortable room, lovingly prepared breakfast and warm welcome. The atmosphere is authentically Irish. The home has been in the same family for generations and lovingly maintained. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and a delight to explore, as is the surrounding countryside. This property represents true Irish hospitality. If you're looking... More

We stayed a single night with this family in March. The family were most welcoming and hospitable which we really appreciated. We had a beautiful room and full access to all the gardens. Dinner in the evening was prepared by the good lady of the house and was delicious. We had tea and petit fours in the drawing room afterwards... More

Wife and I stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic time. We had a most enjoyable ( and delicious) salmon dinner with a three generational Irish family who were also at the house. You eat at one big table. i wasn;t sure about that but what an enjoyable evening! The house and grounds have so much character and... More

Our second visit to Margaret and John Mahers palatial home near Enniscorthy! This time taking friends from Florida. Our only mistake like other reviewers was not booking dinner on the second night instead choosing to drive into Enniscorthy ,to Wallaces Alba, big mistake but another story! Ballinkeele was a wonderful relaxing two days after touring Ireland. Lovely big rooms with... More

Beautiful house and grounds. Delicious dinner (all my favourites) Good wine, wonderful four poster. Lovely host & hostess and delightful dog ;) Very relaxing. Went out for dinner the second night but really wished we had stayed to enjoy another of Margaret's dinners. Although there are plenty of places to visit, we didn't find a cosy nearby pub that you... Both interior and exterior of this family home is stunning and reminded me of antebellum southern movies like "Gone with the Wind." Excellent dinner and breakfast! Delightful host and hostess! Worth the splurge!

Ballinkeele House was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. Beautiful bedrooms with period furniture, delicious and filling breakfasts, fires lit on chilly evenings (yes, in July). We were well looked after in this finely restored house. We even borrowed the dog for a walk. Couldn't recommend more highly. Plenty to do and see nearby.

Ballinkeele combines excellent food sourced locally and cooked to order by Margaret Maher. All the rooms are large, warm and immaculately clean and the bedrooms have very comfortable beds with "climate control" electric blankets. The grounds are extensive and quiet. Ballinkeele is situated about 15 minutes (8 miles) from both Wexford and Enniscorthy so is handy to both business centres... More

This is a beautiful estate house in the country. Our room was lovely and the food was above average. The grounds, the house, the hosts and the other guests were marvelous! Before breakfast we borrowed some Wellies and walked the grounds with the owners' dog. We only stayed one night but hope to return soon!

My teenage daughter and I spent one night here during our whirlwind trip to Ireland. After numerous B&Bs and pubs, I was ready for some luxurious rest and relaxation. I selected the house not for its proximity to tourist attractions but for itself--its architecture, history (still owned by the original family) and peaceful location. I was a bit nervous that...
