The Wasserburg was our choice because it lies away from major roads, close to the dutch border, yet you can get everywhere with ease. The hotel itself is well looked after, rooms could do a little retouch but basically there are as described, well maintained and functional. The restaurant downstairs next to the lake is great, breakfast was yummy and... More

This is an excellent hotel for stopping for a day or two, and not too far from the motorway if you're en route somewhere. I would certainly recommend it to a friend, and booking.com gave the best deal when we booked. Driving across the drawbridge into the courtyard sets the tone; the rooms are good but it is the setting... More

Stunning hotel, beautiful looking with a very modern and traditional style. Rooms were clean and spacious. Only only one slight problem was the lack of English channels on the TV but thats it. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Also had a evening meal at the hotel restaurant which was very, very nice, again with an amazing choice and great... More

We wanted to stay in a castle for a night, and after looking at many on the internet, tried this one. We paid for the Junior Suite and we thought it was amazing. They castle has draw bridges, a surrounding moat with swans gracefully circling it. Gardens all around, and a giant maze. The room was beautifully decorated and staff... More

You would never expect such an imposing building in a fairly non descript area. This place is beautifull the pictures on the website don't do it justice. The grounds are stunning and the interior is very comfortable furnished with good quality equipment and lovely artwork We had a standard room but still the quality was very good, with fresh flowers... A beautiful hotel situated in a castle which is still owned by a German prince. We stayed in 47, a standard room, which was good size and furnished with antique furniture. The bathroom was large with a double sink and a big shower, but no bath. The whole hotel was very clean and well furnished, and the staff were very... More

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a weekend. We could only get a standard room because the hotel was nearly booked. Even considering that it was only a standard room it was not up to par for a four star castle hotel. The room was very small and hot (no aircon). Before booking I asked if the... More

My wife and I drove over from Amsterdam (less than 2 hour drive) to check "staying in a castle in Europe" off the list. Turned out this place was perfect for this purpose. Here's why: Pros: > Legitimate castle with a moat, draw bridges, gardens, labyrinth, etc. and nice natural surroundings/meadows (i.e. it's not sitting in the middle of a... More

Quite simply, any photograph you are likely to have seen of the Park Hotel Wasserburg Anholt will not have done it justice. This place is just sublime. Entering the property from the quite village of Anholt you first drift through a peacefull wooded area that does a wonderful job of concealing a spacious car park. Next you have the pleasure... More
